Depends on how soon the important bugs are fixed. You will have to wait at least until I finished my Marcom-A training this week. After that, I'll have much more time for PotC. I hope to have it released within a month (within two weeks preferrably), but it depends on how well we get the bugs fixed and all other things from our to-do list done.
 
i can tell you, the quest is improved, the only thing is i have to kill santos in his layer, and if you enter the studie you cant get out.

I have added this mod to my game, but don't know how to start the quest. I never did play this quest, see... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

You're supposed to encounter a guy in the Conceiceo tavern, right? But I'm not encountering anyone. Are there any other requirements before the quest starts?

I hope anyone can tell me how to start this quest. I then want to confirm it working and add it into the next modpack update. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
I did manage to see the postings before the site ran into the recent problems; Thank you, Pieter! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> "greatness" is a word that I can easily wrap around my vastly overinflated ego! Now, like Linus from Peanuts, I can hang onto that word like a security blanket and contentedly suck my thumb. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Seriously, I have been poised like a person at a surprise party waiting to jump out and yell, "Surprise!" to the unwary surprise-ee, and I'm glad to have heard that you were able to get thru the quest with my additions, and even more pleased to learn that you liked what you saw. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Pieter, you had made a comment regarding the "added person" in the quest, and his reappearance at the end. The way I set it up this person is supposed to appear in the room after you finish talking with Vito Leone and can then be seen running to the door, where he waits for you to leave. I had the idea that Vito wouldn't scruple to turn the person over to the parties that were interested in him, and that he somehow managed to sneak past Vito and rejoin you before he goes his own way. That was the logic behind the set up and I agree there is probably a better way to do it, but it hasn't occurred to me yet just how to do it. Maybe when people try it out they'll be able to come up with suggestions or ideas that can be tried.

The other comment about Amerigo Vieira's portrait not appearing at times, I'm not certain that this is a bug because Amerigo, due to his devoting his life to learning swordplay and the blade, has no sailing ability or experience when encountered in the quest, and as a result of this cannot be assigned to command a ship. If you hire him he can gain sailing experience (maybe they have a copy of <b>Virtual Sailor</b> aboard the ship, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ) and then can be so assignned, but that is my theory as to why his portrait disappears intermittently.

This is the model that I set up for Amerigo Vieira, and I drew my inspiraton from both the original model for Santos, and the character Cyrus in the game <b>Redguard</b>, a game that I am still fond of. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> Because the model required a head swap it appears to have had the usual reaction on the model's fingers while involved in swordplay, but overall I think he turned out fairly well.

This puts me in mind of how much this mod owes to Inez Dias and her TOOL. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" /> Almost none of the changes that I was able to make would have been possible without the use of Inez's invention! One of the things that I felt was sorely lacking in the House of Mateus Santos quest was girls, so I added one:

It may look here like I added three, but I used these pictures while I was editing the model's texture, and this is how the changes to the features progressed.

How this young lady is involved in the quest is as yet to be revealed, but suffice it to say that she's in there somewhere. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
 
She is in there? I don't recall encountering her... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
BTW: Are there some scripted events in town locations? I used fast-travel to go everywhere and spent as little time as possible in the town locations. Could I have missed any encounters?

I checked the files I put on the FTP, the young lady should be making an appearance, it strikes me as being possible that you were distracted from noticing her by the people that were trying to kill you in that portion of the quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

I'll put it this way hoping that it gives you a hint as to where she should be, without giving away a spoiler;

I added no scripted events to town locations, and I invariably used fast travel while I was testing the mod, I would fast travel to the ship repair office and then walk to Santos' house to avoid encounters with hostile citizens of Isla Muelle that didn't like my looks, so using fast travel shouldn't interfere with the encounters in the quest.

Do you have a saved game prior to the last time you pay a call on Santos? That encounter would be the only time that she would be available for public viewing. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />
 
Ah. I think I know now where she's supposed to be. I must not have been paying attention. I must've been distracted by a certain other character who I was pleased to encounter in the same location. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Real Life has been keeping me busy, but I was wondering if this ever made it into Build 13.1, and if anyone got to try it out all the way thru other than Pieter?

Are the files still up on the FTP? (if anyone knows) If this hasn't made it into a Build, the models should still be available for people to use, so feel free!

Build 13.1 isn't actually made yet. We do have Build 13 Update 1, but that contains only bugfixes and two new ships.

On the other hand, I released version 1 of the Build 14 Alpha package last weekend an I made sure to add this mod into it. There is NO WAY I am leaving it out of Build 14! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

People should be able to play your version of this quest in that game version. I hope some people will actually try it.

Beautiful location and characters, but the tigerskin must be censored ! Murder and ransacking in a game is allright, but killing endangered species is politically uncorrect, now that even Arnold S. has turned environmentalist.
 
i'l test it for you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> i've always done this quest in build 12.1, and i'm planning to do so now. i believe you have to be level 5 and simply enter conceciao to trigger the quest. at least, that was how it was in the stock game. i believe that you can now only meet ambroz bricenos (right?) at the tavern.

Morgan Terror, the Build 12.1 compatible version of my adaptation the quest should still be on the FTP, it doesn't have CCC's poison swords, but it should have everything else the later versions do. If you have any trouble adding the files, send me a PM and I'll see if I can get you on tack. You are correct, the quest doesn't initiate until the PC is level 5, and starts in the Conceicao tavern. I don't know how many times I told Ambroz Bricenos to get lost before I actually played that quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

i don't care about a build 12.1 compatible one, i need a build 14 combatible one. i meant that i was planning to play the guest in this build as well.
 
A Build 14 compatible one? The only Build 14 version in existance already has it IN there. This quest is in the Build 14 Alpha 1 package. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

We do need this quest tested in the Build 14 Alpha package; I need to know if it actually works. If it does, I can put it on my list of new stable features that can be added to a Build 13 Update package.
