i'm not that familiar with knots, i'm afraid. i normally use some variation on a pretzel-knot and a noose. on the shrouds, i looped the rope through the bottom attachements, back up for a bit, and then tied a knot around the downward rope. then i tied the bit i had left around both of the ropes, after which i cut off the excess as much as i dared.
i'd appreciate some lessons in knots though, if it makes everything look a bit tidier.
