The Saga of the Blonque Family

OffHandedBarrel

Powder Monkey
So, I've gotten to the part in the quest after you help the girl (yay) and it says in the quest log "Now where was that ship heading again" or some such like that. I have gone to Kingston on Jamaica (where he was headed) and that is where I'm stuck. Any help is much appreciated. :shrug

You are talking about the Blacque family with Milon and his daughter Emily? I think those are their names.

Go to Jamaica and talk to people in the town square.

Close enough I guess and no help. I have been doing that. Everyone in the street the shop the shipbuilder the blacksmith the tavern keeper the governor the priest....etc. etc. Nobody says anything and I've been all over Jamacia and haven't run into anyone else or a run aground ship or cursed crew or well ANYTHING. Really frustrating. :modding

I got confused on Marc Blacque too. Turns out you must talk to Milon Blacque first.

There should be a character in the Jamacia town location right through the port gates named "Marc Blacque".
Is he not there at all?

Actually you do not need to talk to Milon first to talk to Marc. In the current game I have not talked to anyone on Martinique but have talked to Marc on Jamaica. He usually walks past the gate to the merchant or is very close to it.

:shrug He is always there. When I see him coming I move to avoid talking to him. If he gets killed in a street fight he respawns with a new name. The whole family gets that new name.
If he is not there at all, then something is broken in your install.

You CAN talk to him. He just won't allow you to continue the quest until you talk to Milon.

This is him:

But his name changed because Jamaica was changed to Spanish in Early Explorers. We should prevent that. :facepalm
Anyway, he still should LOOK like that.

OffHandedBarrel calls it Kingston so he must be playing the last time period. Perhaps it is broken in that period.

?!?!?!??!???? :rofl

That reminds me of the time I found an escorted Captain in the French fort instead of on the dock.

Jean Lafitte storyline? That's the one where I completed it last and it does work there.

IN the Naval HQ? How is that even possible? I thought that door was locked in the first place. :shock

The Buccaneer. Jean Lafitte. Went inside and there's this stairway that leads up into an office that had two ruffians in it :duel: and two tables that are chest. That's where Marc was. Then the stairs branch off and come together at a door upstairs that says "head of the Jamaican something or other" and inside that room is another office with an actual chest. :shrug

That's BIZARRE. There is no code in place to put him there at all. o_O

I remember finding a kidnappers house somewhere before finding Marc. It's the second floor of a house in some town. Don't remember which. However, I don't see how that would cause him to be in the Kingston Naval HQ. Really odd.

Now there's a man by the name of Ronan Fairfoot who has the dialog options of a home owner and gives me the option to protect him for the night as a side quest. :shock
