When she turns her hand to the direct she wants you to go
just quickly hit the PAUSE/BREAK key then quickly unhit the pause/break key while straight after pressing the dance direction button she wants you to go.

Ive done this for every dance and passed EVERY single one

It's not very hard anyway... stop looking at the directional pad, just keep an eye on her hand movements. And don't forget that it follows a pattern. Even on Rogue it's not very hard. Can't see why people have difficulties with it.

Haven't tried on Swashbuckler though.
 
Dont need to do any of that just use what i said why make life more difficult ?

Ah, you mean, why play properly when you can cheat?

Being a pirate and all, it seems strange not to acknowledge cheating. But there's no fun in cheating.

Haven't tried yet. Perhaps I will, but I rather not cheat. I'll probably try it just for fun.

But if you cheat, you're a cheater. It's pure logic. If you drive a car, you're a driver. Realize that. But I don't mind cheaters, they do as they will. If that's what they want, do it. But I won't. I don't find any fun in cheating. At least, if you don't want to learn the dancing, I guess cheating can be a last resort. And if you don't have fun dancing, it could be considered too. It's great that people have options at least. But it's still cheating, no matter how you look at it.

Perhaps Sid will lower the difficulty setting on the dancing part with the first patch, since so many people are complaining about it, or having difficulties with it. For my sake, I hope not, because when you get the hang of it, it's probably the easiest `mini-game` in Pirates!.
 
Im not cheating its just another way round it why would sid meier put the pause key in as a cheat? I really dont understand why this bothers you so much , and then to go on a crusade about the rights and wrong of cheating.

Why not just say ill try this some other time or not for me thanks anyway?

Dont forget NOT everyone has fast reaction times , what about people with slight disabilities? its just so unfair and this will help them.

If you dont want to use it FINE this subject should end
 
I don't have fast reaction times. The dancing doesn't require fast reaction times. You can be really really slow.

And I'm not on a crusade. But it seems you are desperately trying to defend your cheating. Yes it is cheating. Do you think it's a playing method? Maybe Sid removes this bug, then. Either he put it in there as a cheat, or it's a bug. Why won't you acknowledge that? Developers put cheats in games all the time, why would Firaxis be any different?

Umm... pausing the game for every movement is more difficult than just reading the visual cues she gives. I just tried it and it's laborious and darn near impossible to get the spin moves on the one count. And the dances take FOREVER. Pretty hard to get a cleavage shot that way too and you can't really "super woo" her without spinning a bit.

I'll stick to the "nornal" way. I have passed every dance after about the first couple when I was getting the idea.

This part has me curious. I know early on during my sword fights, they were so slow it was comical. Then I played with my video settings and now they. IMHO, way to fast but at least a tad challenging. I have to wonder if this is the case for the dancing? The wench, I mean daughter, shows her hand and if I don't hit the correct button within 1 second(or less because it does seem to be extremely fast), my poor 2 left footed rogue goes stumbling. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
 
Lol Banzai same here but with the pause button it never happens anymore
i get the heart so big youd think it was about to explode!
 
Hmmmm.... that is possible. I've no slowdowns, and no speed problems with my game at all. I don't need to press the key at almost the exact same time. I almost waited a whole two seconds before I hit a button, and still it's a legit keypress. Sometimes I press the wrong button and then I just press the other butten before the move is completed, and I still get a legit keypress.

Makes me wonder how many of you get the same problem, if that's the case. And yes, I've stumbled a lot in the beginning, because I tried watching the onscreen keypad instead of listening to the music and looking at the womens handmovements. When I learned to read the handmovements, it got pretty easy. Even on Rogue, as I said.
 
I definitely have about a second to get the right button. I've never lost a swordfight or a sea battle, but I can't dance to save my life.

I do have wicked slowdown though, haven't played with video settings yet (only had the game a day)

I tried jacking my settings up high as they would go and it only slowed down the fighting, not the dancing. I wish I had 2 seconds to enter the move. Hell, half the time I feel like I have to guess cuz it's going so fast. And just as a point of reference. I can type over 65+ wpm and I did data entry with the keypad at one point so I have no problems there. I stare that the lass and wait for her to point in a direction and then just hit that direction. I've given up on waiting for the right beat, due to the speed issue I'm having.
