There is such an easy way to defeat EVERY dancing move EVER

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Cyberwenches... you mean they aren't real?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->LOL! That may be true mate, but you've not answered the question...

I'm starting to think that the sweet little number from St. Kitts that I married, might not even exist. Perish the thought! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> But she seemed real. The way she danced with me, and those pistols she gave me. Damn my eyes! What about my ship? That lovely Royal Sloop down on the dock? The one with "Impatient Virgin" lovingly painted in gold across her stern...

I need a drink.

You can map keys on your own. There's a keymap.config (or something like that) in the game directory that you can open with notepad and change. May you soon find your love. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

putting the `b-itch` slapping part of this thread aside, everyone else talks about the dancing but no one mentions the good stuff. keeping it clean of course, what are you guys getting if you're a wussy pirate and dance like fred astaire? i mean, are you getting secrets, pieces of maps, speciality items? anything? no one is talking about what good the dancing minigame brings, all the talk is about whether you like it or not...

You will be given gifts, information about missing familymembers and stuff like that.

EDIT: and just to add this, I'm finally getting an original of the game, so now I'm not a pirate in the bad sense anymore. Difference is, I'm not buying it, I'm getting it for free as a freelance writer. I'm going to write a review of the game, so I'm getting a promo copy. Which I'm kinda happy about, 'cause I had little money to spend on Pirates! anyway. But I'll probably buy the limited edition sometime, when I have the money for it.

i know this as my post implies. i was asking what stuff people have gotten and is it worthwhile trying to be a great dancer? also, what happens if you refuse to dance with her? does the gov get at you mad, do you lose your chance to dance with her again?

Ah, I misread your post, sorry. I don't know if there are any particular stuff that you'll miss by dancing with here, as you can get them somway or another from the mysterious stranger among other things. Also, don't think your relationship with the governer weakens, as it seems to be at the same all the time. The relationship is with the country the governor represents, not the governer himself. Of course, you're romance won't go up if you don't dance though.

There seems to be no negative effects by turning down the dance. You do not lose the chance to dance with her again.

I have gotten pretty much every combat/sailing aide item from her. Swords, shirts, armor, pistols, barometers, dutch/spanish rutters etc... not to mention news on Raymonda and Montalban. And locations of other scurvy dogs with bounties on their heads.

It IS worth learning to dance. I don't think you can get the little bounty quests from anyone but a daughter. And you'll spend a fortune getting all the items from a stranger.

bingo! just what i wanted to know...thanks squarepants <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

What's all the bloody fuss over a bit of dancing? The minigame itself is simple and easy (results may very based upon alcohol intake), and charming even the less *ahem* desirable lasses can yield invaluable information at no further expediture but time. No one's saying you've got to marry the wench if she belongs in a kennel. String her along until the market improves, savvy? Besides, I've found that if I hit the incorrect key initially, then quickly (<1 second) hit the correct one, me character doesn't dance the way I do in reality. I don't sweat the occassional stumble, as this is perfectly natural for yours truly, and I want the wench charmed, not smitten. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

At this point, 'tis more profitable to loosen her lips rather than her bodice laces. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Cyberwenches... you mean they aren't real?

you mean to say the tavern wench is not real, oh no I was really falling for her as well. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Hey, I've been playing drums for 30 years, so rythem isn't a problem for me, but I still can't get more than `5-6` spins in a row. I know my timing is right... I make $150 a night because my timing is right. I just can't seem to convince this goofy game that my timing is right.

Try playing on Apprentice and doing a lot of dancing, watch not only her hand signals, but she will ALSO nod her head when she wants you to step. Hit the key on her head nod, and you'll do it...

And as the old saying goes, How do you get to successfully woo and marry the governor's beautiful daughter? Practice, Practice, Practice!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

The very best way to pick up a woman is to remember to BEND AT THE KNEES (or lift with your legs, not your back)! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
