Landlubber
I got a tip for ye! Make a trading post(house) near a shop, check whats very pricy in your own shop, and cheap in the shops shop (duh?),buy it cheap in the stores store (Me isa komvyuzed) and sell pricy in yer own shop!

what the hell are you talking about? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" />

anyway, here's my tip:

put poisoned throwing knives in your weapons locker. as your boarders have to return all weapons to your locker after the battle, you have an infite supply of them! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" /> it really works!

My turn:What in the Seven Seas are you talkin about!

well, in your captains cabin is a weapons locker. you can put weapons and such in there, which will be equipped by the crew members that join you in a boarding fight. (note: NOT your officers! you can give your officers items by opening the exchange menu which you can find in the character menu of that officer) all your boarders will give back the weapons they took from the weapons locker after the boarding fight. this includes poisoned throwing knives, which actually shouldn't be given back because your men throw them away at the enemy!

I know, but what does this help?they got unlimited but it doesnt he-- aaah!

and btw,i ment that u make ur house, upgrade it to trade post, buy somthing cheap in the store, and sell it for massive money in ur tradepost!

handy, but i'll probably understand it better when i actually build something.

oh: heavy ships are your friends in a crash! well, when it's your ship that is. it's amazing how the smallest tap can sink a lugger. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> it's like: tapblub!

lol, ramming ships is good for ur rep to,u immediatly pick up survivors!

and....how do ye get some poison knifes?

loot enemies or open boxes. that should work. note: you do not get them by using autoloot. poisoned throwing knives are quite lethal to an enemy without toughness. wait and see them fall like flies. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/slap.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":slap" border="0" alt="slap.gif" /> they do some initial damage on impact as well.

Are you sure you put them into the locker? In fact they should use it..

I think these are good tips, though I never build buildings.

It's why I like to use heavy ships. You are able to destroy the enemy's ship masts with his tactic.

destoying the masts by ramming? i never did that before! i usually shoot them down.

i think you put the stuff in the 'ship's chest'. you need to put it in the 'weapons locker'. i might be rather hard to find it though. in the original tutorial cabin, the weapons locker is represented by the swords hanging on the wall. note: you will likely not see your boarders use the stuff. they simply do.

<b>important: you need to enable NPC's to use special weapons in the internalsettings.c to make my tip work. otherwise your boarders will indeed not use them. the special weapons are also known as stealth weapons. you can find the file in the PROGRAM directory of PotC.</b>

here's a sneaky tip: poisoned throwing daggers don't trigger 'attack mode' unless someone see's you throwing it. if you talk to someone who offers you some expensive stuff, ignore him, throw a dagger in his back, and watch him die! you are supposed to be able to loot the stuff of him after he's dead.

women also always have a piece of jewelry with them. might be usefull to know.

I could do it once. My ship was a Battleship, and the enemy's was a Brig (if I remember well) I could destroy one of her masts when I sailed into her. Though one of my masts also was destroyed by the enemy.

sounds like a good thing to do. I'll try this once, if I can get a throwing dagger. Thanks for this tip.

what i THINK you did was run it over and nock off a mast. you can sail the masts off a sinking wreck. beats me how you lost a mast though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

I'm thinking he's referring to the bow sprit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

ah. well, that can happen if your ship isn't high enough. it's rather convenient that the bowsprit of the manowar is placed so high. not to mention that the ship itself is actually just a moving island with a lots of guns stuck on it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

oh, try this: when padre domingues gets kidnapped, swear for a second time in the church. it's rather funny.

it's also pretty funny to go to the leader of the smugglers when searching for rheims before talking to the tavern owner. it's a little insider joke programmed in by the modders. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

My hint:

When you are disappointed about the fast death of your officers in capturing battles on ship decks, then let them learn Basic Defense, Advanced Defense and Thoughness. Now they'll never die and you can board heavy warships with 50 men.

I think most of you already know that.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

yeah, my officers can take the crew of a manowar on all by there onesies! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> me doing a lot of the work myself, of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> but for a change, they are a great help! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" />
Don't take your officers to board because your
Crew can do it much better!.....and it's cheaper! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

I never take officers without them. Though sometimes they die with them too.
