HTH!   <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />   I have some skins I should contribute. gawd, just need to find time to finish them and set them up for inclusion in the tailor shop.  :)
Much thanks! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

OK just tried and it looks like it went through.
Am new at this!

Anyway for all who want it, it's "Badvoysey.tga.tx".
Just rename it to man6.tga.tx and Voysey and all his clones will wear it.

COOL! Thanks, Capt. Petros! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

If someone has a mind to, they might add this skin as a separate one to the game - and put him into the tailor shop... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

Like I said, I'm new at this!
Don't know where the first attempt went.

Just tried it again and this time it is in the root of the ftp site.
I missed the "`upload-download` folder" again <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Awsome, thanks, I got it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> I will figure this stuff out yet dangnabbit!

Finally after 7 tries (who said 3's a charm)!

I got the file into the `Upload-download` folder and out of the root!

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> on me!

<!--`QuoteBegin-Petros`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Petros)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->You might actually be the one 10 yrs younger.
Take a look at my site join date; Forum Mum, heck, I've been here since the Internet was in infancy! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Just kidding, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Wonder how that got changed, heh...

So Petros, we are probably in the same neighborhood then, `age-wise`. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" /> Then again, I got my first grey hair when I was 25. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

AhhhhHEM, back on topic, ha, all this talk about switching heads FINALLY got me to MAKE some time to fire up Inez's utility and have a little fun. I made some pretty `unusual-looking` mixes... Then I wondered HMMMMM... And here's my first entry into the "changed heads" models -

<img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/Fawn1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> <img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/Fawn2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I'm not finished painting her yet - there are TWO image files to be edited. This is Towngirl1 and Danielle. I changed the hair, and took her face from one of the other towngirls as Towngirl1 looked just a mite too "meek" for my taste. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

THIS IS FUN, THANKS, INEZ!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

I tried making a switch with the Dutch officer model and a French soldier model (the one I used for my Catalina de Erauso character), hoping that I could have the French head (and nice hat!) on the breastplated model, but despite the fact that both models have long hair, it's not cut in the same place on the models, so alas it does not fit together, and I am not enough of a modeler to MAKE them fit together. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

I was rather hoping I might be able to finally get a model that would look a little more like this painting of Catalina:

<img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/derauso.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I basically want the French soldier model, but with breastplate armor.

This is what I've already done up for her, but the breastplate would be nice...

`catdE-1`.jpg

Inez, are the arms able to be switched, too? That would make for some interesting changes.

I'm putting together a package of new characters - the Danielle one above, a black female Danielle, a pirate who was the prototype for my Armand character, an edit to the Nigel Blythe skin, and Bilgemunky:

<img src="http://www.ganotherapyusa.com/extras/bmonk1.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

It's one of the skellies with the monkey skull face, blue fur, and Bilgemunky's red jacket and hat. I've changed him somewhat from this pic, added trim on the hat and fixed the jacket buttons... Heh... I'm gonna add these so that they can be bought in the tailor shop. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Great Skins, Cat!

Changing arms: not with the program as it is, but it would be a small change. I'm not sure if you'd get any useful combinations, though.
Maybe I'll find time to make that change over the christmas break..

@ <b>Yellowbeard</b> - Good thought, however the hair (which I hate, but that's beside the point) on the French soldier head will not mesh with a Spanish soldier body, because they don't have long hair. I don't like the pants on the other breastplated models, anyhow. Doesn't match what I'm looking for, and that armor over the thighs is modeled so you can't cover it up...

I'm guessing if I was actually into modeling I could FIX this myself, but <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> I have yet to learn Maya 4.5, and I don't have 3DSMax to even try it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I was only half way through college back then!

Towngirl1Daniel looks great! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I just looked at that and neat, the hair bun lines up perfectly with the pony tail!

I wonder however how that will look `in-game` when she turns her head.
The bun moves with the head but the pony tail stays with the blouse?

I think the pony tail will be allright ingame because it has it's own bone. That's why it stays with the body model in the first place.
I used the bone number to separate the heads from the body, not the position.

I've tried that before too, towngirl1 with Danielle, and the ponytail mostly stays in place. It's a better fit than a couple of the other models, where the ponytail floats a bit away. Phantom hair.

The Bilgemonkey thing is so cute, Cat. I'm looking forward to having it.

(And just to let everyone know again, I put my own first public release mod in upload/download -- it's Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook [sans hook], from that recent Peter Pan movie. He isn't integrated into the Tailor mad, but I got the model and texture and animation files all in there, plus portraits. You could start out as him by adding him to Malcolm's dialog in the beginning, then go off and hunt down that Pan bastard. I'm'a work next on Tim Curry as Long John Silver from Muppet Treasure Island.)

Could the hook be imported from the hooked and `peg-legged` pirate? Or, could Inez' tool be expanded to pick and choose arms and legs and whatnot to pick and choose from multiple characters? Skeleton arm, peg leg, eyepatch, nice hat... a true cursed pirate.

I checked it `in-game` and the pony tail went swinging right along following every head movement as normal!

The `non-armored` CMs don't have the right shape for armor.

However, From the right angles one is able to get the illusion.

Wow! Awesome stuff, all!

Regarding the FTP. I regret to say that Keith cleaned it out, so you'll need to `re-up` your skin.

Cat, I notice there'a hole on the back of her neck; if you like, email me the file and I'll import it to max and see if I can correct it.

<b>@ Nathan, </b>yes, there is a hole in her neck, but it's really very minor, and probably wouldn't be very noticable, if at all...

I got some kind of weird glitch going on right now with PotC, had to uninstall everything and need to reinstall, so I haven't been able to test this stuff yet (was working on the files and was JUST ready to say, okay, let's fire it up and take a look, and the darned thing wouldn't run). I have a suspicion it was a Windows problem, stupid Microsoft! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Anyhoo, thanks, Nathan, I may do that later on tonight, appreciate it... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

<b>@ Petros,</b> I considered going that route, but didn't like it - just didn't look right to me ingame... What I've got is fine, actually. I was just hoping it would work out switching heads - but it's okay. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

I might try playing with one of the other breastplated soldiers to see if the head can be changed - thing is, I love that hat but the hair, OY! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

<b>@ Alan, </b>I really like the Bilgemunky one too - he's cooool, but unfortunately there's no talking animation for his head, so he won't have a speaking portrait... I was considering putting a skull texture on an existing face, but most of them have too pronounced a nose! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

About the small holes in the `head-switched`-Characters:
That's unfortunately true, most headswitches lack some small patches. (They're the triangles that belong not to the head, but to the neck bone.)
If you fix it in max (or in maya, at that), you have to bind the bones anew, which is still a bit tedious and loses the detailed movements of the fingers. For girls it might not work a all (at least not with the ponytail) because i'm using the male bone system (man.an) for the binding.
For such minor details it's probably not worth the effort.

Ah, OK. Thanks, Inez! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
