We Have the Storm Engine!

Ahhh ok, just curious, thanks mate!

oops, meant sourcecode writer:hmm. developer can mean modeler or texturer too.

Never let me model a ship if you won't want it to sink :no, only let me sail it :yes

Two Eyed

Maybe later on you may be considered but as a member of only 24 posts Im afraid we dont know if we can trust you and that is the number 1 thing that goes into our considerations, we had a member who did a fair bit of work on the Build Mod a while back that we thought we could trust but they went AWOL to the max and we defenantly dont want this to happen with the Source (as Seaword.ru has put a lot of faith in us that it will be kept in a very tight nit circle and wont be leaked)

The people who have access are 3 moderators our most experience coder (who used to compile the modpacks) and our animation/character specialist

as a sourcecoder I can't say anything else then: Logical xD:

also I can say I am trustworthy as I have never ever had a parkingticket as sea

Anyway, does this having the source means, the builds are going to advance to AoP2 or...?

You might be trustworthy but we dont know you well enough to make the judgement yet, there was a reason behind talking about that other member who went AWOL and started really disrespecting everything we had done.

The plan is to have a really stable Build 14 and then to port it over to CoAS :yes

Have to go to B14 myself to give it a try to stablelize it. And as I stated in thread DirectSail, will get the timescales of the worldmap and seaview synchonized. Somehow anyway as those who don't want to have directsail should be able to sail quickly enough to the next island too.

and as far as the source goes, will see. Doing my own engine aswell so :razz (just kidding).

Editted: Kewl, saw just now I am moved to group modders, thanks

OMG! That would be absolutly fantastic. My head is spinning just thinking of it (or is it the rum). I am excited to see that all of that hardwork that was done on 14 wont be lost because of people's need to move over to newer titles. Of course the idea of 'porting it over' sounds way to easy. I know darn well that will be an endevour in itself. With the seperate modding happening with COAS (trade mod, pieces of eight mod etc) the chance to expand on build 14 wont be lost either.

Well, I'm back, so that means that we could try to slowly get started on getting our thoughts and efforts on this organized and going.

Welcome back Pieter. :onya

I don't have any experience with C++ so i'm not sure how much help i can be but i'm here should you guy's need me. ;)

Interesting topic, so has any progress been made with the source code?

I'm a .NET developer, mostly VB, C#. At the moment I am just going through the Supermod/game files see what I can make of them.

Some progress, but not much. We've got a serious lack of coders, so you'd definitly be welcome to chip in.
If you decide to help out the good folks working on the Age of Pirates II: City of Abandoned Ships Combined Modpack with coding work,
we should be able to give you access to the game's source code once we get to know you.
It's be most appreciated, that's for certain. :yes
