I'd be really curious to know how long you've been playing (in game years). <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

And how much xp do you need for next level? I would guess we're talking about more than 10 million... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

And the health goes over 1000's, Ill bet! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Someone should put in an "Old age" mod, so your character gets a more aged skin as time progresses, and you die of old age eventually. But, there could be a side quest to give you eternal youth, and that could involve some of these crystal skulls lying around

Sorry to be out so long, <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

Rico, if I send you my save I may have to add a few files so it will play, I've made a couple "adjustments" and I'm not sure the save will work. (at least without a "reinit".) This game is Build 12 from Mad Jack's download upadated from Build 11, the year is just 1700 and I have 1555 hp, I never even bother to look at how much experience I need to gain a level. I do want to see, however, if I ever get to a point where the game says, "that's it!"

The high level notwithstanding, the game is still pretty challenging and I get killed all the time. The only downsides I have noticed is that the pistols do practically no damage to a foe and are hardly worth the effort of using them, also you need a lot (stress on the word lot,) of potions if you want to get your hp back up. Often, especially in the dungeons, between fights I'll just hit "r" and "g" and let the time go by until my red line is nearly full again.

The main reason I've hung onto this game so long is that I've collected stashes of gems and pirate bric a-brac that I've had to give up whenever I started a new game, and now, thanks to Kieron's docking feature, I'd have to give up a bunch of ships that I've put up for a rainy day. Not going to happen! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

HKD,
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->How long does each battle take? it must be ages with that much health!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I tell you, there are times I'm wondering if I'll ever get a critical on my opponent. When that happens their HP goes way down, but I think I do an average of 40-60 points of damage to them per hit and that can take awhile to knock them down when they have around 2000 points of HP. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

What about the people in Douwesen cave? They must take even longer! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

HKD,
The best thing about that cave, both coming and going, is that, unless they manage to push you back, you only have to deal with one at a time and as long as you're patient you figure that you'll get there eventually. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

I hadn't been to that cave for a while, I just recently went after Lady Catalina figured out how to make the Artois Quest finish, and I think I died about half a dozen times on my way in. I remember specifically one time getting to the last guy and then taking a fairly drastic hit. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> (Thank goodness for save games!)

One thing that I've noticed during the swordfights is that opponents will do a change up in their tempo on occasion, you can find yourself getting into an attack-defend rhythm, and, like good fencers, the bad guys will occasionally break the rhythm to take advantage of you. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />
