Windmill Slayer and Corsair's Pride

Hi all! I was just interested where to find these two swords. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Thanks!

In the Build mods they are found at random based on your character rank.

Yes, but in the regular game? I don't use the build.

Then GET the Build! There's no excuse to not use the Build! It is better than the original game in every way! Plus I don't know where to find these blades in the original game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

believe me, if you can't get the build, don't bother trying to find them. the conquistador is definatly the best sword. the windmill slayer and the corsairs pride are seriously underpowered, especially the windmill slayer. the corsairs pride is a bit less worse, but the only plus is that it has 100% pierce. for the rest, forget it. and yes, i know that the pierce stat is a bit lower in the build. in fact, the silverleaf is much better then the windmill slayer, in all areas.

Well where do I get conquistador then? I once got it from an officer, though it's not easy to find. They always pierce my blocks, with conquistador and 7 defense so I thought it would be better if I just get the windmill slayer or corsair's pride and slay them quicker <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

By the way I think I'm going to get the build too

Yeah you should! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> the pirate

The Windmill Slayer AKA Blade23 only shows up in Stock potc in "both_reaction.c" file.
It is what you get if you kill the tutor in the tutorial

I don't think stock ever allowed this. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Also the conquistador AKA Blade14 is only given to a pirate Amerigo Vieira.
It is part of the Hitman quest. I am not sure but I think that this quest is not do-able in stock POTC either.

you are forgetting that you can't loot in the stock game. i have always gotten my conquistadors off an officer. i usually found them after a few tries with level 10 leadership.

Actually you can. I once gave the officer who had conquistador the saber of Nicolas Sharp or smth, maybe Falchion or anything with a higher dmg (both min and max) and he took that sword instead so I could take his conquistador. You can't do this for windmill slayer or Vagrant because the first has the highest dmg and the second has the second highest (after Windmill) max dmg (10/<b>30</b>)

Oh and my download is 28 percent by the time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

i already knew that. how do you think i got all those conquistador's? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> and that's called exchanging. not looting. looting is done off a corpse, exchanging is done with permission of the still alive owner. stealing is without permission. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

In my stock game you simply can't get the neither Conqistador nor Windmill slayer or Corsairs Pride. Only Amerigo Veira has a Conquistador and he won't give it away.

Exchanging is bugged I think but I'm not sure if it works in the stock game.

In a stock game Amerigo is the best companion you can get. Since the lack of the thoughness perk he is the only NPC who survives every fight and capturing battle. In the Build you don't need him, but in stock games he is a major key to success

I never discovered the other swords in the stock game.

When using the build why not using Bosun's Choice and Atwood F100? These are imho the best swords available.

actually that would be the solingen rapier and the bosun's choice, in my opinion. the solingen rapier can have a block of 98% and the bosun's choice can have a max damage of 78. but maybe those other two are a balance between the two.

The Solingen Rapier is the best. Reason: "These fine blades were made in Solingen, Germany. It's shady how it ended up here, but it is known that Myles Standish, who fought in the Dutch Wars between Holland and Spain and later was hired as a military trainers by the Pilgrims, brought one of these blades to this hemisphere." <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

This description suggests to me that there should only be one Solingen Rapier in the game. I think it might be fun to make it so that you can only get one of certain weapons. If you don't buy it or take it when you find it, you might find it somewhere else again. If you do get it, you won't find another one. So there'll only be one of each in the game. This might make the game more challenging, because it makes sure you can't give superblades to all your officers and crew, because there aren't many superblades in the game and it takes a lot of time and effort to find them all.

you are forgetting your weapons locker. i always equip my crew with that kind of stuff.

I was actually saying what I said with the weapon's locker very much in mind. With my suggestion you wouldn't be able to put 10 Solingen Rapiers into your weapons locker.

Actually it is the best because .......... I did the sword's skin and interface graphics for it! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

And I think that the description of Attwood's 100th version, Malcolm's choice, and the Cardinal's guard sword should also be very rare/unique perhaps no more than two of each in game, perhaps only one of each.

It would be nice to only be able to get one from a quest and another from a Governor as reward for achieving a certain high rank, Admiral perhaps.

And that would be it. No finding or buying them anywhere.
Just finding or receiving them as part of a quest, or as a gift from a Governor for service to a nation.

Nicholas Sharp's sword should also be unique, as will be the sword I'm making for the Viceroy's Nephew quest.
It is the "Brazo del Cid".

the corsairs pride should be awarded. it sais so in the discription. i think that the swords should indeed be extrememly rare, but not unique. they should simply be extremely hard to get. not buyable for sure. now you can just enter a fort, slaughter everyone, and equip your entire crew with solingen rapiers, no matter what your level. maybe the swords shouldn't even be rare, but only aquirable via a certain quest with various variations on it, so you can get several of them, but making it really hard to get them. making them a reward from a governor is one way, maybe such a thing as a treasure quest with greatly increased difficulty is another. or maybe a boss with something like 4000 hp. (i have found one with a huge amount in the lighthouse on turks island. he had an excellent attwood F100 on him. this could be another example of how to get them.)

Problem: <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

Four uber swords (Bosun's, Attwood, Solingen, and Cardinal's) are so rare that you don't have one. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

+ The one bozo who does have one also has 4000 HP. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

= You're in for a "whole lotta hurt" <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

why are some swords and ships named with letters and numbers?? That is kinda stupid isn't it? And can you plz post the stats of these uber swords? thanks

I'm surprised. Limiting the availability of these uber-swords is actually considered a GOOD idea! That's one of the first times limiting something is considered a good idea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

We should probably try to actually do this. I like the idea of the player being awarded the blades from the governors. Shouldn't be too hard to implement. And then every governor can give a different blade. We'd just have to choose which blades will be given by which governors. I vote Solingen Rapier given by the Dutch. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

With a bit of luck, this mod would make it so that you really can't get uber-blades without first going through a whole lot of trouble. So until you manage to get one from the governor, you must get along without a super-blade.

I wonder what to do with enemies: If enemies don't use these blades, the enemies will be much less strong. But if enemies DO use these blades, the player can loot them. So should or shouldn't enemies use them. Or does anyone have another idea to solve that issue?

That makes TWO good reasons for it being the best. I indeed very much like the look of the Solingen Rapier.

The only blade I know that is named with a number in it is the Attwood F100. To find out the stats of any item, just open PROGRAM\ITEMS\initItems.c.
