32 gun frigate WIP

Now I'm pretty sure I saw a Constitution WIP posted on the forum not so long ago... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Like the Commodore said, the <strike>Constitution</strike> Soleil Royale would be a very nice addition too.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Lets see if that works and someone posts a WIP thread in the next, say , 10 minutes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

EDIT: glad you like her, Captain <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

lol I just used my old account to look into the Pirates of the Burning Seas forums. It's amazing, what people put up with. They are eager to build ships (the users are the main content-attributers to the game!) and when they complain about not being able to get through with their models at the Ship Steering Comittee (who are ALSO volunteers) they accept. THEY ARE PAYING 60 BUCKS A MONTH TO BE TREATED LIKE DIRT! And here we are, building ships like cookies from a factory. That's a nice thing, I think <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

As to PotBS, its actually only 14.99 per month to play. Not $60.

But still, it is a pain in the butt to get new models through the steering committee. You also need to realize that new ships won't show up frequently because they won't want to patch the game too frequently, so they will often wait until they have a number of new ships or items as well as some fixes that will add to the game.

Alrighty, 15$ not 60 - a major difference <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I just dont understand people - why they put up with all that. FLS demand professional quality, correct measures and details for ships- and they give absolutely nothing in return. The shipwright is not paid and still the model is considered the property of FLS with every legal rights and the ship can never be launced i.e. in here. In addition, they want them to be low-poly models - totally acceptable, as it is a multiplayer game. But then comes the joke: when these fine, detailed and beautifull ships finally pass the endless and hysterical critism from FLS-SC's and is allowed to be in the game, the ships are launched in a toybox game-engine, where these beatifull and detailed ships can only be seen from a 3D view and not in their full glory like in the Storm engine. You can't even walk the deck <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" /> its so ridicoulus..What a contradiction. What a waste!

The final tragedy is those ships that did not succeed in being good enough for the steering comittee (FLS freebie puppys) . They could have brought it to us and would achieve endless ovations and would be able to sail their own ship 100% garanteed - but they dont. If you complain, your post is just being deleted with no sign of it having ever been there. If you still complain, your account is deleted. I find that particular part really sad.

To me, FLS is the republic of North Korea. I love what we have here.

That sounds... weird. VERY weird. So if you make a ship model, submit it to them for inclusion, it's not YOUR ship model anymore???
I'm so glad I'm steering well clear of anything commercial. Just free modding and if I'd want, I'd stick my Virtual Sailor cruiseship into PotC too! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

Sorry guys no news about my ship and there probably won´t be any for some time as I´m currently working on another vessel.

You mean the guy who worked on one of Chapman´s Architectura Navalis Mercatoria ships? If so, its his fault imo. He should have known that the ship is way too modern for the PotBS setting (there´s a sticky with all the pre-approved plans, none "younger" than 1746, release date of the ANM was 1767).
Funny that he modelled the same ship as I do, though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Exactly. But Chapman seem to be the favourite of the SC. I dont know if thats him. Its a general perception I have. I.e siko2000's St.Alban - look at the discussion about, how his attachment of the figurehead is "not realistic, as it would fall of in the first storm". Nobody mention the beautiful modeled carvings he made in the gunport and stern sections. And there is this demand of "making room for cannon recoil on the lower decks"..right, because you can really see that through the gunports the size of a needle?!
FLS provided a low-poly model for the shipwrights to check the scaling - ingame, the ships are the size of matchboxes...etc etc you seem intelligent, you should get my point by now.

Why do they not come to us, if their ships are rejected, you think? What makes it important for people who really does an amazing job to give their (exellent) works to FLS for free and not to us, you think? They all must know of our existance in there.

Aye, I'm also curious about it's status, would be nice to be able to add this to the game, can never have to many frigates.

Hopefully when the work starts on this ship if it hasn't been released already we will have another amazing ship to sail around the caribbean. :will
