I do know one thing for sure now: The custom nation-based town music did already exist by the time JB made his music pack. So there's not TOO much that needs fixing.

What exactly did you do to make the original music work again when you started a new game? I'm thinking about downloading the music pack myself so i can take a closer look at the files, but right now i'm just looking at sound.c.

I had backups of the modified folders, I could restore 'em without any problem.

I thought Jack Black's pack worked with the new version too. Use WinMerge to ensure there are no crucial differences.

Well, i suppose the custom music for the woodes rodgers plotline being absent isn't a crucial difference. It shouldn't cause the bugs he's describing in any case.
