An ambitious project

Seeing that, i didn't know you are working in this new model, I succeeded in adding the objects to the old "Santiago" without the Beeping (model in my folder). Anyway, if you could put some objects in your new "Santiago" like wheel, bell and lilgun and MORE it would be GREAT.... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

sounds good!

what do you want on which position?? how many lilguns and and and...
it´s your ship and you say how does it look finaly

it´s your skin. at the moment i work on the rigging!

@ Thomas
right the straight ropes called "fale/falb" the other "ropee/ropeb" in AoP

Maybe, we could choose the locations I use in the old model (see the fastcaravel file in my folder : fastcaravel_deck.gm). But you can add more things. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I don't think yo ho ho has Thomas the Terror's Santiago reskin yet. Please find it attached. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

As for moving to the Storm 2.8 engine, we first need to wait for CoAS for that. And even then it would be a huge project to undertake. Not sure if we could do it at all with our current amount of coders. Especially considering that CoAS probably won't work for Pirate_KK at all. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I already sent by PM the TTT's texture.(this morning I think) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

rigging is finish

okay, be prepared for a list of rigging comments (i've been looking at drawings of that ship):

1: there should be a rope running from the back tip of the lateen yard to the top of the mast it's attached to.

2: there should be a rope running from the main mast's crow's nest to the base of the mast in front of it. this also counts for the masts with lateen sails, the mizzen and bonaventura, though these don't have crow's nests.

3: there's a rope going through a sail. the fore course.

4: ropes supporting beams shouldn't sag. those should be straight. otherwise they would lose their supporting purpose.

5: you have put ropes between the crow's nests running backwards to the sides. this isn't wrong, but they should be nearer to the shrouds, the rope ladders.

6: there should not be any ropes running between the tops of the masts.

7: the mast at the very back doesn't need rope ladders.

8: the two ropes connecting the spritsail to the hull, the sheets, look a bit odd. mayeb straight ropes would look better.

1/2 i add it

4. i can use sag ropes or no ropes for PotC, sorry.

5. these ropes are not on the mast, they are on the rey.

6. these are the original PotC ropes

7. yep youre right

8. yep. look 4.

4: why does that matter? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> some ropes could sag when possible in the game, but the supporting ropes shouldn't in any case. in PotC all ropes are of course straight because you have no choice.

5: yep, noticed now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

6: there was never a guarantee that those ropes where correct. they're not. you can never fully count on the correctness of a pc game. i know that i sounds logical that there are ropes between the tops of the masts, but they're not supposed to be there. not on that ship, at least.

4. Hey I am a AoP Gamer. My knowledge about PotC is very poor! In AoP i can chande between sag and straight. when in PotC all ropes are straight everything is allright <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

5. i know. I will try to delet them but sometimes my TOOL crashes and destroy the GM file.

The SANTIAGO with details is released. (Only the Model without Textures at FileFront)

yes, that looks great! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> this is more or less the rigging diagram for every ship, though the points where the ropes connect may be slightly different. for example, sometimes the rope that now runs from the back tip of the lateen yard to the top of the mast runs to the crow's nest of the mast in front of it instead. this is to make it easier to operate. however, as this ship has an invisible crow's nest in the mizzen, it doesn't matter. the bonaventura mast is small enough for the rope to run like it does now, so that doesn't matter either. the rope is used to pull the yard up against the mast so the yard can be swung to the other side of the mast, so the sail isn't pressing against it if the wind is from that side.

uh... is that bonaventura mast backwards? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> (i'm not sure if it's made up out of two parts either, but maybe it is. again, doesn't matter)

Thomas the Terror found out that sagging ropes in AoP don't show up in PotC. They don't change into straight ropes; they're just not there at all.

I tested the new 'Santiago'. And she's perfect <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Thanks again yo ho ho !!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbs1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":2up" border="0" alt="thumbs1.gif" />

your welcome. i´m happy to hear that you like it.

@MORGEN TERROR:
is that what you want??

yes, that would be it, i think. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> though the one i know had the three lateens decrease in size equally, i have no doubt that it excisted like that as well.

brilliant. absolutely brilliant. that ship is one of the most accurate in the game, i'd think.
