Another Fine Mesh...

Sounds cool allright. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Ok, I had some time to work on this model, with the following results...

<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/332ZK34H/1110565.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

I also fooled around with the textures a little bit and posted a picture of how the model looks in TOOL, and how the mesh looks in Blender, to see if that makes the model look better than it does in in-game pictures. For whatever reason the model looks pretty good in TOOL.

I think the leg will be easier to see in these pictures because the last set I took I was using the Davy Jones model to take the pictures and pose for them, and the camera is not in the normal place it is for other models.

One question; does the Davy Jones model that is currently in the game do any sword fighting? If so, that's too bad because this hands are way off the locators on this model. It still works but I couldn't get the hands to line up as nicely as they have on some of the other models. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />

The model still needs some work, but the updated model and textures are up on the FTP.

Cool!
Davy does fire a gun at some point. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Sir Christopher, your work is AMAZING! Never thought such astonishing characters could be done ...

Thank you very much! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

And speaking of amazing, what I'm doing wouldn't even be possible without the work you've done! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> Thank you again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ty" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

He can shoot! I guess he can pull a trigger with his claw... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

All Right, still getting used to working with Blender 2.45, but I have made some progress... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/332ZK34H/1116237.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The Mad Jack model, I mostly made adjustments to the boots and the hat, pretty much everything else is the same. If you want to update your model you only have to replace the Mad Jack.gm file.

I also figured I might as well set up a Mad Jack model with the coat, but no hat.

The Commodore Norrington model can replace the old model who's creation was prompted by a request by a member named Tian or Tien, (I can't remember <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> ) that lead to a prolonged discussion between Captain Fabris, Commodore John Paul Jones and myself. We all agreed that the pirat1 head most closely resembled Commodore Norrington in the movie, but we didn't know how to replace heads at that time and we had to settle for Man6.

I also wanted to try and adjust Barbossa's hat so it looks more like the way it does in the movie. Along with that I added a sash like the one for the Mad Jack model.

All of these models are on the FTP in file named, "Another Fine Mesh", let me know what you think... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

Barbossa is really nice!, did you check my skins in Things I haven't released yet? I made a CotBP skin pack, thanks to you I can begin on a DMC one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />. Love Barbossa BT, but maybe you need to make his hat a little wider at the end without a feather. It is a bit narrow. But otherwise, nicely done!

And could you please put the files into a package? It is much easier to download then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

YESSSS! Good things are still happening! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
Good job, Sir Christopher!
Somebody really needs to change the textures though.
Norrington looks <i>waaay</i> too much like Scully from Cutthroat Island.
Did you notice there's a fair amount of clear Cutthroat Island characters in PotC?
There's a fat trader with the face of Dawg Brown,
there's a lady looking like Morgan Adams in wench outfit,
there's Mr. Blair and there's Scully.
They should've called it "Cutthroat Island: The Game". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/NorringtonPirate.png" border="0" class="linked-image" />
I would like to refer it to as the proper side of redemption.

There are some good stuffs in this topic.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Is that last one COTBP Norrington? If so, what about a hat?
But they're all really good! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

What's "Mad Jack"?

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> no, that's the DMC version. norrington used to have a wig, remember?

which reminds me: i think his clothes are supposed to be dirtier.

Working on it, when I uploaded this picture yesterday I was already making it dirtier. (It is harder to make something dirty then clean on a computer <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

you mean his sig. don't think it's that particular ship though. looks too narrow at the top, although i don't actually know the ship itself.

No it isn't the Zeven Provincien. It is a painting by van de Velde the Younger. But the site didn't said which ship it was <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

We really should add these models into the next Alpha. They should be quite useful for quest characters as well as a base for new reskinned characters. Any suggestions for where they could be used? And can we use the Barbossa-with-feather-on hat? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
