Another Fine Mesh...

Anyway, I just realized something - VCO has two child models. So, if we can import VCO models now, we could import those child models as well, right? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I think they have Santa Claus in there somewhere as well, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/xmas.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":xmas" border="0" alt="xmas.gif" /> him and a mixed assortment of nuts I'm still looking thru the files to see who I want to import next. I don't see why the children models couldn't be loaded, but from what I've seen they appear to be toddler age children, and where I have to admit the idea of taking pot shots at wandering infants makes me chuckle a bit, I doubt I'd be willing to expend any energy towards importing them into the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/guns.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":2guns" border="0" alt="guns.gif" />

Had a chance to work on the Skull model and I've managed to come up with an improved version, and a new version with extra pistols hooked onto his baldric.

<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/332ZK34H/1106290.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

On both the models the hands are looking a lot better for the swords and pistols. If you already have the earlier version of the Skull model, you don't need to start a new game to update it, just replace the old Skull.gm with the new one on the FTP. Alternatively, you can replace it with the gm in the file labeled Skull2guns. The guns are only a cosmetic effect, they don't actually work in game. I added them to the model, but I did not add pistol locators for them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/guns.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":2guns" border="0" alt="guns.gif" /> One last thing, I changed the largest portrait to show the Skull and crossbones eye that Damski62 created for the model, so you can replace the tga.tx file in the 256 folder.

Let me know what you think... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Screenshots look absolutely great! Very good job on those guns! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Hi.
Great job Sir Christopher <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

And the fact you've put those guns on the Skull model also means they could easily be added to other models
now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
damski.

If you can add guns to characters models, how about adding hats to them as well? We could use a man6 with a hat for use as young Jack Sparrow. Right, Thomas?

Man6_1! but that the same. Kazeite did once make a hat, but I couldn't get that thing right on someones head, because the hat did not fit with the animation and you got the weird animation problem with the thing.

I understand that there's already a Jack Sparrow model with both the coat and hat, but I wanted to try out some of the things I managed to learn recently;

<img src="http://www.pix8.net/pro/pic/332ZK34H/1106912.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

This model is named after my old drinking buddy, Mad Jack, who's name I can never seem to type without capitalizing at least one of the "a's". <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

Let me know what you think...

I like him very much, but now I don't know which model I like best, Kazeites version or your version <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> I really like the sash, but could you try to do the same to the depp model, that sash?

And could you give man6_1 a tricorner hat if that is not very hard.

Wow! How'd you do THAT? That looks amazing! What's the size of that guy? Regular size? Because Kazeite had to make his version bigger than regular characters or his arms would act weirdly.

hey, nice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> could use a bit of an adjustment on the colours, but i LIKE this one.

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/JackSCM.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

With some skinning. I really like the result (nice that you could attach the bone sash and beard!)

what i had in mind exactly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/YoungJackHat.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Got the hat on it right this time thanks to your MadJack, this is officer/young Jack.

<img src="http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l68/Thomas_the_Terror/JackwithSash.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

Jack with his sash, without coat.

Nice work, Thomas!!  <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Congratulations, Thomas! They look better than ever! Thanks to you and Sir Christopher Mings! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

Damn, those looks excellent! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Are those stock tricon hats, or did you take a hat from my Jack?

Wow, <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> You've really put a lot of effort in those textures, Thomas, is your version on the FTP, so I can see it in game? I'm glad the hat works, but do you want a less "battered looking" hat for the young Jack model?

Pieter, the model is standard sized. At one point I scaled him down to what I imagine is <i>"Actual Depp Size",</i> but I scaled him back up to normal becaue he looked very tiny... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/jackhat.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":j2" border="0" alt="jackhat.gif" /> The hands are in a grip mode because I avoided using the TOOL "raise arms" feature that straightens out the fingers, (and messes up the shoulders... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> ) and just raised the arms with the modeling program. The sword locators are not 100%, but good enough for union work, I'm still planning on seeing what adjustments can be made to the locator coordinates. This mesh is a true amalgamation; the sash is a re-sized, re-textured BeatriceA sash, I stole a bone from one of the skeletons, and the shirt cuffs came from a VC model. Frankenstein's monster ain't got nothing on me! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/334_flashing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flashing:" border="0" alt="334_flashing.gif" />

Kazeite, I certainly benefited from your advice on importing, but I made the hat from one of the corsair model hats; I just started sliding points around until I got close to the Mad Jack hat. Fortunately Jack's hat is supposed to look battered, but looking at pictures of Jack Sparrow I think there's still room for improvement. The good news is that the model can be used in the meantime, and if I update it you can replace the .gm and not have to start a new game to get the updated model. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

Great, Sir Christopher Mings! Absolutely great! And no gorilla-size either this time. No offence to Kazeite, of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
