If you are testing Beta 3 + the small fixpack, please post all your testresults and comments here. That way they won't end up scattered over multiple threads and forums. The below things were changes in Beta 3 over Beta 1. This means that these are the things that especially need testing.

One known bug: If you start as Nathaniel Nation, when you leave port you are blown to smithereens. This was changed in previous modpacks, but is returned back for some reason. Pirate_KK will check this out.

- BuildSettings redone but not yet finished
Feel free to post comments on the new layout of BuildSettings.h, but keep in mind it's not done yet
- Boarders should use 2-shot and 4-shot pistols again if they can use them and they're available
- Land locations on the new islands finished: Jungle locations, shores, taverns, stores, smugglers and governors are added properly for just about all new islands
- Support for French, German and Spanish language translation added (no translation has been added yet though, just the support)
- Changing your flag on a stormy start should work properly now
- When clicking the ABout Build button on the main menu, it finally does something and opens the About Build interface. PLEASE TEST!
- But with captured captains should be fixed. If there were more than 36 captured captains in the game, starnge issues would start to appear. This should be fixed now.
- Quick Equip button code was changed to work better
- Dying and resurrecting has been enabled for the new islands. It has also been fixed slightly.
- Quick Repair ability can only be used if you are not in a sea battle. Originally the <i>Go to shore</i> icon had to appear, but that is changed now so that you can also do Quick Repairs at sea.
- Russian language translation (almost) finished
- Fast Travel enabled for Churches, Tailor's Shops, Blacksmiths and fake forts. New interface icons added for new Fast Travel locations.
- Tutorials are fixed to work entirely properly now, also on QC and Falaise de Fleurs
- Reputation code is fixed. Double reputation changes have been turned off by default
- "Known as mister" bug fixed
- Equipping items with and without the bladedamage mod was fixed. With the bladedamage mod, Broken blades are not equipped by enemies and the player won't auto-equip Worn blades either.
- Church donation code has been fixed
- Bandaid fix added for characters with no "sit animation", such as Devlin, 33_Piratess10, BeatriceA and Beatrise
- Swordtheft mod removed: It didn't add anything to the game <i>at all</i>
- Unchangable flags bug fixed
- Ship_BranderDetonate commented out in ransack_main.c
- Ship repair costs fixed, Repair All button now also repairs cannons
- Broken blades only appear with the bladedamage mod on. With the mod off, it is Badly worn blades like usual.
- Missing .skipequip attribute added for guns with the weaponsmod: Fixes the Quick Equip button and should also fix other instances where guns should be equipped.
- Boarding code fixed some more
- Stunned characters changed: You can now resurrect stunned boarders of yours
- Characters with armor reverting to their previous skin after item tranfer bug fixed
- On sea: If a friendly ship is closer than an enemy ship, the ship won't surrender
- Walk file added for the Lugger VML; Lugger VML is now a starting ship option
- Mincrew/Maxcrew and cannons fixed for several ships
- Realistic Ship Purchase mod removed until the new version is added to Build 13.1
- Goods reordered in a better order
- Improved skins for four of Petros' ships

I've only started the new build and found new improvements and got blown out
of the water by the cannons of Oxbay Fort. But what the heck, I should have
checked my Flag!! I like the new shortcuts and the 'F' key works!
I'm sure that I will find Bugs, but that is half the fun. And ofcourse will report
them here as I play on.Keep up the good work and may the Modding god
be with you!!!!

The fix is on ftp.piratesahoy.org in directory pirate_kk/b13, file StartupRelations.zip. Please extract over Build13 Beta 3 with small_fixes.zip.

<b>Update:</b> I changed name of file to fix1.zip. This includes also fix for governors (see next post). BTW, the character_names.txt file contains some new names which need to be translated to Russian.

Oh no. I have send old version of Cuba characters and now there aren't governors there. Fixing now.

Trying to fight in that tiny cabin is a pain. There's almost no good way to set it up. So stick 'em in the back with your sword, they won't mind. I do know that at least some of the enemy will be facing you, some of the time.

The russian subtitles happen in one of my other inst. of the game.
I have 2 computers and one is ok, but I can't check the latest beta,
because the computer is busy downloading the Supermod for AOP.
The download slowed down to a crawl and it will take about 2 more days!
I will check it after that......and it's ADSL only thing you can connect with
here in Australia, well the others are either crap or too expencive or not
available in my region.

That character is model 9Td. Red hair, black jacket, hat. I just tested her in my game and she worked fine. She won't sit in the hold, but that doesn't affect the game, just give you error messages about animations. She'll stand up instead.

Unless you privately added a new character model to the list of random captains without testing it, or someone messed with the animation files, that character should work. If people consistently get errors on these new captains, I'll have to remove them.

was generated. I installed the small fixes and started a new game.
The crew problem is still there but it is not a major problem!
Don't take the female one out because it's not game stopping!
We have to see how it behaves later in the game.

You'll only get a female pirate captain about once in 20 times, and I've only found 4 models that look and work right. I don't want to take them out, and I need to know if people are having problems with them just in case it's something I can fix.

I did see what you describe (invisible except for the sword) in one of my tests with a different model, but I didn't use her for a pirate captain.

The "take it" icon has been there for me quite a lot. It seem to be related to a boarding that includes the tiny cabin and an item on top of either the table or the chest. You might even get the knock-knock sound later if you try to talk to a merchant when you have that icon.

Workarounds: make sure you pick everything up when you board the tiny cabin. And move away from the table and chest afterwards before hitting the space bar to leave the cabin. Sometimes you can get the 'take it' icon to go away by selecting it.

Fix: Either fix those extra locators for items on the table (and possibly the chest) or get rid of them.

Something is weird about that locator for an item on the table. I've had a problem where I couldn't leave the cabin when I was near it. Once I moved away from the table it was ok. I wasn't even facing the table when this happened.

I've had the knock-knock sound play once when i initiated the dialogue for a merchant on-land(this was in Oxbay at the very begining) that was open for business.It didnt effect anything but i didnt notice if i had the hand/grab icon active at the time though, and it only happend the one time?

I was using the latest beta(3), but havent applied that small fix file you did yet.

UPDATE: Ref the problem of all ship in a convoy going neutral once one has surrenderd, spotted by Doober:

The only thing I know that has been changed for the surrender of ships is that line 776 in AIShip.c was uncommented:
if(HPr > 20 && fdist <= enemydistance) return; // if friend closer than enemy, no surrender.

Try to comment that line again and see if that solves your issue:

putting the comment back does fix the issue.
 
I fear the the bug with the doubled randomcharacters (including doubled, misplaced buildings) is a major one.

only this time I could not continue with it. There was a big disply of colours
and dialog not possible. The lady has an eyepatch.
I also lost all my ships cargo sailing from Isla Muelle to cayman and later off Redmond

That model is girlpatch, and I tested it as well. These are working in my game.

You never said if it was on the upper deck or the boarding cabin.

Please describe "big display of colors." I don't need a screen shot, just a description.

I noticed someone removed a lot of Hat's code that handled cargo loading. I'm not sure what effect that will have. But I've never seen cargo get lost. As for ammo, the amount you see when you're on the ship is less than the amount you see in the store interface, probably due to that ammo being loaded in your guns and not counted in your hold.
