I think you MAY have a bad locator file (which we can fix).

Open PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h
right at the bottom of that file you will see: (I have left out the notes at the end of the various lines).

Save it.
Load a saved game that starts before you enter the room. At some point you will see writing all over you screen.
These are the locator positions
You should see the visible locators now when you go into the room.
Can you see to the right of the desk:
goto
goto2 ?

sorry, no goto2 to the right of the desk (which harvey is sitting right?) no, there is no goto2 in the room even

O.K. - you need these files.

Goto PROGRAM\Locations\init
and copy this file in there: Redmond.c (below)

Then goto RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\Inside\Residence4
and copy this file in there: Res04_l.gm (below)

I'm afraid it means a new game though.
Also, DON'T forget to turn the locators off - they'll drive you mad otherwise! ;)
 
That Res04_l.gm is NOT the one I have in my game. Yours is newer and bigger.
So it wouldn't have been in the update either! :shock

one question, if i wanted to create a new ship (because i used to create my own models and textures for FSX)for personal use, except of the common model, textures, i have also to edit the "ships" directory right???
and can alias maya 7 do the job for the models, because in another post i read that a plugin is necessary....
 
You need Maya 5. We can help you with getting that if you want.
For adding the ship, you export the model files with the Maya plugin.
The exported GM files then go to RESOURCE\MODELS\Ships\[Shipname]
Textures in RESOURCE\Textures\Ships and the required code in PROGRAM\Ships\ships_init.c

isn't jack "lucky" aubrey a commissioned officer of the royal navy?
why they treat me like a privateer in royal navy docks in antigua?
and what should i do, after I infiltrate eleuthera?
 
The Master and Commander "quest" is 100% free play. There IS no quest.
I added that infiltration questbook text in an attempt to explain that to the player.
If you've got any suggestions on how to make this more clear, please tell me.

Why do they treat you like a privateer? Because there IS no REAL navy gameplay in the game.
The closest you can come is the Hornblower quest.
 
but at least at the hornblower quest the dock commissioner treats you as a naval officer, as a midshipman and later lieutenant , commander etc....
but when I go with jack aubrey, who is a commander etc.etc. he treats me as a privateer, NOT AS A NAVAL OFFICER WHICH JACK IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!

Never mind, i'll figure out the tweak
It isn't a tweak, it's written into the Hornblower quest.
The other games will be modified in the next update, but they won't know your rank, only that you aren't necessarily a captain.
 
I have found and sunk the volcano Huzzah.

Now I get back to charleston, when and am told to follow Pellew, I can't move. I seem to be frozen.

Peiter what is the frist contact quest?
 
For the Hornblower quest, is that with WIP 8 or WIP 7?

Or just get WIP 8. I *think* you don't need to start a new game if you were using WIP 7 before.
Just do a reinit and it should be good enough. :doff

The First Contact quest is one of Bartolomeu's stories and starts by talking to the Cayman governor.
