Build 14 Alpha 7

I've added some music. But there was no problem with the files with Alpha 6.
I added the same music files to Alpha 7 and now the cannon sounds didn't work anymore in third person view.
Really weird. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

I'm just wondering, do you have back up copies of the files alpha 7 changed? (I want to revert to alpha 6 if thats possible, without reinstalling) please and thankyou <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

actually, that would explain it. almost. what i don;t get is why it only happens in 3rd person. maybe because that sounds are louder or something. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> however: i think, that if you play for a bit longer, you'll experience the same problem with 1st person once in a while as well.

how much music did you add? if it's a lot, then it seems reasonable that it happens all the time. if it isn't, it shouldn't happen all the time either.

Concerning cutting out sound in the 1st Person view there is a clear no. I just play PotC for a few days more. In first person view everything is alright.

I've been added about 72 music files and delete the original ones. And in Alpha 6 I never had any problems with that number of files.

Now I reduce to 15 music files (nearly original amount of files). But the result is the same. No cannon sound at all. So I think the number of music files isn't responsible for this.

I was browsing through the PotC file after installing the alpha 7(and of course, I also have a run time error), but , then, i noticed something. The Build Settings H file is missing. After installation, that file just disappeared. Wonderin if anyone else noticed this? maybe this is the source of the problem?

arrrgh, it's me evil twin agin'! have a rum! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

that could be it. i thought that error looked familiar. it happened to me when i had the wrong buildsettings file.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

argh, thank ye me twin <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

I'm going to keep cheking to see if I find any other "misplaced" files.

i don't think so, but it would be good to know for sure. i think you'll just need the buildsettings file to make it work.

i'm wondering, if you're my evil twin how evil ARE you? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

Apparently Pirate_KK changed BuildSettings.h into BuildSettings.dat. I don't really know why, but that's how it is. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

The ships texture is. Upside. Down. And I can see why nobody has noticed that - thanks to dark red recolor most of the details are invisible anyway. I'm sorry to say that, but that's very lazy retexturing job.

Sigh... Ok, I'm done complaining. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I know Kazeite. But, it's my first texture. I've tried to do something better but i met restrictions due to my lack of experience. So sorry but i can't accept the word "lazy".

So am I, but if you made this texture despite your lack of experience, if you knew it's not as good as you wanted it to be and made it anyway... it is lazy.

I can't count the number of times I've decided to scratch some of my textures, because I realized I didn't had the experience to make them look as good as I envisioned.

Ok, I understood.

For you :

lasy work = imperfect work

No. For me lazy work equals making imperfect work, knowing it's imperfect, and releasing it anyway, or spending 5 minutes altering texture and releasing it without further modification.

Ok, Kazeite. You have your opinion, i have my opinion. Our opinions are different. I think we can talk about something else. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

I get a runtime error only with this build , the other builds work perfectly fine <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Err.. 14 Alpha 7.1 anyone? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I hope the problem can be fixed. This version looked to fix a lot of the issues with boarding that I have had. (like the instant re-heal)
