I think so, yes. Make sure to not overwrite any of the files that are already there though.

so i had right <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> thx i have prepared all things (dezipped all) i install tomorrow after work <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />

The merge seemed to work for me.
Nathaniel is now running around the deck like a two year old and goes to shore with no problem. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Brilliant. Please tell me how it this game version works for you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

Hi,
The Options work but send you straight to DT when exiting the options menu / not a problem any more as I've made all my changes.
Decks, (after sorting my initial install cock-up),they seem to be OK now.
Bridgetown/Greenford - That is unfortunately flooded, inside the buildings as well. If I try to save there, there is no option to do so in the menu.. and if I press the quick save button a message appears saying 'cannot save while sailing or boarding'. Well... that is true, but I was stood outside the store. I had the same flood problem in WIP_1 but that was in Santiago.

Also the trader mission didn't work right - (Anceloto dialog missing).

Are any of these problems in Pirate KK's version?

damski.

Starting the game straight at Bridgetown/Greenford, I could not replicate the flooding problem. Also quicksave and quickload worked fine for me. However, I do recall seeing flooded town sometimes. Seems to happen either at random or when visiting your ship's deck when anchoring or something like that.

Since Pirate_KK's version is pretty different from Maximus' version, there's a good chance these problems are not in there. I recommend trying both installs.

For the trader's dialog, can you <a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=9234" target="_blank">enable error logging</a> and tell me what's in error.log?

The Options interface and Advanced Options interfaces <i>can</i> be opened in the Maximus version, but the game crashes upon closing the Advanced Options interface. Even when not changing any of the options. It doesn't remember any changes you made prior to the crash either. In other words: The Advanced Options interface is as useless here as it is in Pirate_KK's version. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

O.K. I am playing as Nathaniel starting at Oxbay (forgive me for using the old names here, but, I am having enough trouble trying to pronounce the new name... let alone remembering how to spell it! )
Met Norrington and Beckett and got the East India Quest. - Fixed me ship, got me crew, got me goods and brought me'self a few goodies from the various merchants, including the super-duper compass thingie from that awfully nice chappie on the beach.
The only problem here is if I try to pick up the item on the beach or by the tree near the Tavern. A scroll with the item icon on it appears and the game totally locks up - no f1 or f2 access. Have to Ctrl/Alt/Delete out.
Sailed to Jamaica by map - no problems at all - except I don't have a visible deck crew running about as I would normally expect to see. (Another Heavy Trader issue?)
Went ashore. Spoke to Henry - Saw the Governor - told him about the French invasion - saw Beckett gave him his gold and got my next quests for Antigua and Oxbay.
Did a direct sail all the way to Antigua - rescued some shipwrecked sailors - and sunk a pesky pirate on the way.
No problems at all.
Got a free ship repair at Antigua - got the item for Beckett - restocked my ship and sailed for Greenford by map.
Picked up some officers in Greenford and then walked from Greenford to Oxbay - a minor skirmish with some robbers on the way (soon sorted <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> ).
Met Norrington again - had a nice chat - spoke with the Tavern owner who put me on to the drunken French Officer (not literally! - I added this comment for Morgan Terror <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> - I know how his mind works!). Got the information I needed from the officer and went back to Greenford.
Restocked the ship in Greenford - got some more crew members and went to the dock.
Tried to board the ship - CTD! (Another Heavy Trader issue?) I have played this several time now varying my approach to the dock but with the same result.
I know we have had this problem before - but for the life of me I cannot remember how it was solved <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
That's as far as I've got for the moment.
There are some dialog issues - place names need to be changed - but so far the CTD at Greenford is the only "game" issue.

Error log:
RUNTIME ERROR - file: sea_ai\AICannon.c; line: 127
missed attribute: speedv0

Have since sold the trader and purchased another ship - same CTD.

No problem if you keep calling the towns by their original names. That prevents confusion anyway. But I do think it's really cool to have actual Caribbean island names for Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

How does that CTD occur exactly? Can you replicate it? Have you got any idea what might trigger it? The Heavy Trader problem was solely because of those missing GM files, so there should be no problem there anymore.

I don't think the "speedv0" problem should cause a CTD. I recall Pirate_KK tracked that to my changing of the goods order so that food and rum are bought before ammunition on performing an Auto Buy. This caused the game to try and load the cannons with rations, which obviously wouldn't work very well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
Solution: Change the DEFAULT_CHARGE line in PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h to:<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->#define DEFAULT_CHARGE                2            // INT - MUST NOT BE 5 IF USE_REAL_CANNONS is 1!!!! Hi,
Short Jack, the freeze when picking up items happens every time to me, just press escape then it should be ok again, thats what I've been doing. Might work for you. ( oh, Pieter's said that already)

Another problem I've had is when boarding the ship in port .... when it changes to 3d view my ship is actualy inside the island.

The flood issue is random at Greenford which doesn't make it any easier to fix I suppose.

The trader job in the tavern:- talk to the trader .... empty dialog box - no job - nothing in quest book.

That whole dialog need tidying up. - I will see if I can get to it in the next day or so, but you could do it yourself in Notepad++.
go to PROGRAM\DIALOGS\ENGLISH
open anacleto_dialog.h in notepad++

Picked up the game from the last saved position - went to ship - NO CRASH!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

Sooo... sailed to FdeF to continue the quest. (Flying a Portuguese flag) the French open fire (several attempts to go to port), so went to the cove and walked into town. Did the business with the Captain, then got the O.K. from the Port Commander. Met with the (ship to be escorted) Captain who asked me to bring my ship to port.
Walked ALLLLLLL the way back to the cove (the game can be very tiring on the legs you know! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> ) went to my ship - sea icon - CTD! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> There are times when I think the world doesn't like me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

and that's exactly why you need to save every time you enter and want to exit port.
