If I play with the experimental - mod, whats happen with the little patch? Did I have this to install before or after the experimental mod or is this never mind?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Good question; I had to check myself. It doesn't really matter; there's just one file that is both in the patch and the experimental mods.
This file is initModelc and the proper version if you have the patch and the experimental mods installed is attached to this post.
Whether you install the experimental mods or the patch first doesn't matter, as long as you place attached file in PROGRAM\Models afterwards. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

You MUST remove the PROGRAM folder, otherwise things will get messed up <i>big time</i>.
After you installed Build 13 Final, do you still have the stock game toy ships on the worldmap or do you have the <a href="http://media.moddb.com/images/mods/1/13/12307/worldmap.jpg" target="_blank">new ones</a> (< clicky)?
The screenshot with gray worldmap ships that you showed before had untextured stock game toy ships.
The crazy thing is; those files should've been overwritten by Build 13 Final, so you shouldn't be having those models anymore in the first place. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

I think that one of the following is happening:
1) You're installing Build 13 Full instead of Build 13 Final (Build 13 Final includes Update 3 and with it, the new mapships)
2) Windows is not allowing your stock game files to be overwritten

First of all, make sure your installer file is, in fact, Build 13 Final and not Build 13 Full.
Then reinstall the stock game, but when installing Build 13 Final, install it to ANOTHER folder.
Then copy the files from the Build 13 Final installation to your stock game folder, making sure to overwrite everything (and run RunMe.bat afterwards, of course).
Then continue with the Build 14 Alpha 9 installation instructions.

It is a certainty that somehow something is going wrong in the installation process if you still end up with the "toy ships" on the worldmap! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Thanks Pieter! Checked the file and it says 13 full, has a picture of 2 keys and is a proper installation file!
Now I have to search all my disks for the proper file! Otherwise it's back to the downloading page <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />
I found the mapship update added it to 13 full and I got my ships in full color! Now to installing 14/9.
Downloaded 13 final to be on the save side <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Easy. Don't use the inititems.c file from the experimental mod. The new values were intended as a test only. They tend to make the game unbalanced. You may also notice that you often get killed in one hit even when blocking when using that mod. While the prices make the weapons cheap to sell, they also make them cheap to buy.

Hook officially recommends the standard inititems.c version. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ahhhhh, okay, thanks a lot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

Another one:

"The double compass"
<div align='center'><a href="http://img12.imageshack.us/my.php?image=doublez.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/1594/doublez.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>
</div>

For the "double compass":

Go to Options, Advanced Options, Display Battle Interface (near the bottom) and change it to the second option, "depending on the setting in the options menu". This will remove the small compass and put the display in the upper right with the rest of the numbers.

If you prefer the smaller compass, don't change it. The numbers in the upper right are the number of guns in each arc which has nothing to do with the compass. I haven't tried playing with the small battle Interface, but some people refer that.

CouchcaptainCharles made a mod, named the BuildingSet, that allows you to build stuff in the game.
This enables the officer dialog for building stuff, but is also used to liven up various cloned locations.
However, the game engine doesn't readily support this, so he was forced to code it in a VERY weird way.
In fact, the buildings are the BLADES AND GUNS of characters.
If you use the console to give these items to yourself, you can actually literally go fencing with a fort. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />
The problem with this is that these buildings are walk-through, are attached to completely unmoving characters
(otherwise the buildings would be wobbling around with them <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> ) and do not respond properly to lighting.

He has later figured out how to do proper location remodeling as can be seen in Port au Prince,
but the BuildingSet models are still used in many locations, including the addition of the dense jungles on many of the islands.
It's also used at various times for the Bartolomeu o Portugues quest.

It seems that the response of the BuildingSet models to lighting depends on your hardware.
It used to look pretty good on my old computer, but it looks totally stupid at night on my laptop, similar to your screenshots.

Anyway, there is a toggle on this mod that, when turned off, completely removes any such building from the game.
Most likely you can find this toggle in the Advanced Options menu, but I'm not 100% sure.

As Hook says, these are indeed test-values and as you have noticed, the test didn't have such good results.

Turks has been in the Build since Build 13, which was released several years ago now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Hi,

I can`t install 14/9 full. After installing 13 full and removing the mentioned folders I have to convert your file to a zip file using ZipGenius 6.

Then I extract it to POTC folder but there seems no extraction to happen. All I get in the POTC folder seems to be the above mentioned zip file. The Program and Resource folders do not reappear in the POTC folder and the game aborts on start up.

Running XP SP3.

Regards, Oldtimer

You have to convert the file to ZIP? What do you mean?
It's a self-extracting EXE; all you should need to do is double-click on it, point it to your PotC directory and press 'Install'. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
