i realy like the real sailing mod, but it can be a problem when your in battle, especialy when you around nevis all the time (like me), it happens almost all the time that when i almost have cought up with a ship, i get starnsported to quadeloupe (dunno if i spelled it right but you know what i mean) and then the ship i was hunting isnt there anymore

With the 0-key on your keyboard (NOT on the Numpad), you can toggle the DirectSail mod on or off while in the game.
So you could toggle it off while you're doing a chase, capture the ship and then turn it on again.

I have a proposition for a more challenging freeride game/that is without playing the quests/.I don't have interest right now to go to all places on the map, cause everywhere I can get the same. If a certain ship or weapon however be tied to a location, I may plan my moves in prospect to this -and become more logicall and challenging as a result. For ex. if after boarding I can't capture a pinnace, only take the cargo, but it is only produced at the shipright in St.Eustatius, I will want to go to this place. Also for to be allowed to trade in the shipwright, there may be necessary a favour to the owner/cause I am a pirate not ordinary citizen/ - so only if I can kill somebody and get the skill for this, I could buy the pinnace, even if I have the money. In this way, with the ships and items connected to each other, they will be more valued and there will be an incentive to explore the map and acquire new skills and traits for the reward that you get.

p.s. I don't find the ordinary quests unconnected with real items or stuff interesting. It's just talking with people, and if you are not best in english, it's a hell. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

That's not a bug; that's just something unintentional that we can't seem to fix.

I would like to give the various locations something "special", but it'd have to make sense. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
On the ModDB, it seems there are at least three people having trouble with the Build 14 Alpha 9 download.
Can anybody confirm if the file does or doesn't work correctly when download from there?
Alternatively, does the file on our own site still work correctly? I'm beginning to wonder if the file DID become corrupted somewhere.
 
Hardly. They never read the instructions and get stuck. Usually with the erasure of the folders. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Well, the reports we've been getting on there suggest that they're having trouble running the Alpha 9 installer file <i>at all</i>.
And since Build 14 Alpha 9.5, you don't need to remove the folders anymore. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
People think instructions are for newbies not used to handle a computer. But these instructions are not hints, they are rules.

It´s like buying a product from Ikea..you know, saying "I am craftsman and dont need to read the instructions"!
....until I got this bunch of leftovers, that should have been included..somewhere <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wub:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> only THEN I usually dig the manual up from the garbage can. I´ll never learn, lots of guys never will I guess <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Officers are located in their own storyline folders PROGRAM/Storyline/[Name of Storyline]
for Rys Bloom go to:
PROGRAM/Storyline/standard/characters/init/officers.c

Some of the fixes require a new save game, so I would start again (the fixes are really good though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> so its worth it!)

Yay! Can I sail to Isla de Muerte now after boarding the Interceptor on the Jack Sparrow quest?

Not quite that good I'm afraid, you can however get Ragetti and Pintel, attacked by the Kraken (funny cause tentical model is not ready yet) and many other great things. Oh and another bonus in LoJS is a side quest with Captaine Chevalle which is cool.
 
Savegames don't work, but you'd find that soon enough: you can't load your old savegames anyway.
The Kraken attack is funny, yes, but you have to deliberately trigger it by enabling it in the console.
How come you didn't see there was a new patch, but noticed it only a couple of hours after the release anyway? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
