Are you kidding me? This one is VERY significant.
Anyway, there's just a few things that can be added without requiring to start a new game and most adjustments do require a new game.
If you don't like that, you can stick with the previous version. But then don't complain if you run into problems we have fixed now.

More over, Build 14 versions are <i>Alpha</i> versions, ye' be warned <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" /> Build 14 is a work in progress, The last achieved version is Build 13...

I don't know how long this has been an issue, but it seems that getting crewmembers to follow you on shore isn't working for me anymore. I tried to take 3 onshore with me a while back (only 2 came; dunno if that's a bug too or not), they died in a big fight, and then when I eventually went back to the ship and tried to replace them, none would come on shore with me anymore, regardless of which option I picked.

Like I said, I'm not sure if this is an issue with Patch 2 specifically since I didn't get to play the game that long before it came out, so I never had the chance to run into this situation before that. Any help would be appreciated. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> It's nice not to get <i>totally</i> outnumbered all the time. :p

If you don't take crewmembers with you, there's a lot less chance of running into huge numbers of enemies. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Aconcagua changed the code for crewmembers ashore, but it should work. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Short Jack Gold just sent me a small Hornblower quest fix file: <a href="http://piratesahoy.net/build/small_fix.zip" target="_blank">Small Hornblower Quest Fix</a>
Included also is Seb's modified HMS Justinian model. This is compatible with the experimental mods too.

Really? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> How much is "huge numbers"? It seems that even when I go alone, I never run into fewer than 4 enemies at a time, and sometimes it's higher still. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

If you do take crewmembers, you trigger a mod that makes islands extra-dangerous and adds a risk of encountering raids and military patrols and such.

Is there a way to cancel that when you no longer have any crewmembers with you? I have none with me anymore but I keep running into military raids and huge groups of enemies (7+) and the like.

They're all dead, I suppose? You should be able to cancel it by talking to your crew and saying you don't need any crew anymore.

There is indeed a bug when crewmembers die. When you'll ask for more crewmembers again, the dead ones won't be loaded back.

I thought you were supposed to be able to hire replenishment crewmembers by talking to the random people in towns?

There doesn't seem to be an option like that when talking to my crewmembers. I just have the option to pick how many I want, or say "I've changed my mind." Picking the last option doesn't deactivate the mod, apparently; I just ran into a military raid a few minutes ago, and then died to an attack by about 10 enemies in the jungle. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

It seems you can only turn it off by talking to one of your crewmembers accompanying you ashore.
But if those are all dead, then you can't do that. Have you tried talking to random characters yet to try and hire one.
If that doesn't work, you can turn it off through PROGRAM\console.c. Find:<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->void ExecuteConsole()
{
    ref pchar = GetMainCharacter();
    if (!bSeaActive) ref lcn = &Locations[FindLocation(pchar.location)];
    ref ch;
    int i;
    int limit;<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->And add:<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->LANDCREWMEMBERS = false;<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->Load your savegame, press F12 and it should end.

I got two issues:

<ol type='1'><li>When going to Tortuga using the map, the games crashes (without any black screen, non-responsiveness, freeze, etc.) when I press <space> to enter the region near the island. Note: I was playing the Blaze quest, with cheat-enabled. <b>This happens every time I try to do it.</b></li><li>In Jack Sparrow storyline, when I got to the tavern, after talking to that lieutenant (i forgot his name,) there <i>was </i>no Sir Christopher Mings (or whatever his name is). There was someone else, with Mings's model (with different name, which i forgot). Then the dialogue where LANDLORD was written in uppercase (i didn't read it all) reaperred no more then ten times before i was able to continue. <b>But this didn't happen when i started a new game again.</b></li></ol>

Sorry If I'm posting this in a wrong place.

All of patch 1 is in patch 2 as well <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

That is why you don't have to install patch 1 as well.

As for the kracken attack it is in the patch but at the moment needs to be triggered using the console <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<!--quoteo(post=336347:date=Jul 10 2009, 05:44 PM:name=Piratesword)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Piratesword @ Jul 10 2009, 05:44 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=336347"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->thanks heaps how do you trigger it or do you modders have to do that<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
It's really not hard to trigger <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Open: PROGRAM/console.c
<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->void ExecuteConsole()
{
    ref pchar = GetMainCharacter();
    if (!bSeaActive) ref lcn = &Locations[FindLocation(pchar.location)];
    ref ch;
    int i;
    int limit;<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->
just add KrakenAttack(pchar,100); right below that and then load your game and hit F12 when out in 3d sail mode

NOTE: we currently DONT have tenticles so it doesn't look like a kracken and your ship will take damage <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> (It does still look cool though <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />)

PS. Good to see another person from near my neck of the woods <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
