Can't find Ronald Blacklock (Tales of a Sea Hawk - Deliver a Prisoner to the Governor)

Since I have been reporting bugs here, I kind got OCD and I just have to report this typo XD

Nooooooooo! Just after I finished a huge battle and lost a 2nd rate ship, but I got a huge ship of the line along with a 3rd rate one, and I got a bug where when I go in the menu, the buttons on the top will just not switch screens. It is just stuck in the character information screen and just won't change :(

I want to board and sail that huge shiiip!

Try pressing F2 again, then clicking one of the Tabs. Or click a DIFFERENT tab from the one you want to click, then try the one you want afterwards.
I've seen it before where in a certain menu, one of the tabs just won't work. Very strange and I was unable to find any reason for it.
 
Those typos have been there forever.

I hate it when that happens with the menu buttons stop working. For me it always happens early in a game so I just restart. Perhaps if you go back to an earlier save the buttons will start working again. Will deleting the options file work?
 
There are a LOT of typos to go around. It'd be great if someone could go through it all and fix everything that doesn't look right.
Eventually I'll probably end up doing it myself once everything else is fixed and I finally get round to playing through all the storylines.
Still.... help on that would be most welcome. It's not hard either. :no

Also, sometimes if NONE of the menu buttons work anymore at all, that is due to an interface error. I get those a lot while modding, but they shouldn't occur during regular gameplay.
Anyway, if it does happen, usually you can use F1 or F2 to re-open an interface and then it works again.
Also, if that is the case, I want to see the error.log file so we can figure out why it happens and prevent it in the future!
 
For better or worse I tried everything I could to make it work, so going in and out menus or alike sadly do not work and no button works. With quicksave I always have previous saves since I delete the extra quicksaves only when I finish playing. Actually the previous save is about half hour before the bug occurred, but it happened after I found that huge ship of the line. Arrrrrrrgh! Storyline is getting on a pause. I am going to get some more ships, man them and then chase after french convoys! At any rate, if this will happen again, I will make sure to keep the error log and send it for sure.
 
Well I got myself a bug but this time it is a different one. I hope the error log will help with this one. I just can't control the ship anymore. I can fast travel and sail around in the map and I can fire cannons if the enemy ship gets in the line of fire, but I can't turn it or raise and lower sails.

It is just my luck XD I have the save where it happens. I got myself another ship of the line, and as soon as I try to swap ships with it, controls die. After that , even if I swap ships again, the controls stay dead.

Those save errors have been there since the original game, but don't seem to do any harm.
Never heard of a "no controls" problem before. What game version are you running now?
The latest version does require you to start a new game, but has some stuff fixed that might somehow be related.

If you have a bugged savegame, can you post it? Perhaps I can figure out what's going on.
 
I bet the controls are not gone, but instead they are arranged in a completely different way. This used to be very common but just sorta went away. I think deleting the options folder fixes it.

Ok I sent you the save file. Seems at the current point it does not matter which ship I swap with. As soon as I do, wasd stops working. Going to the shipyard, selling the ship and then buying it to replace my current ship does work though. When I delete the options file the save files lose their icons and when I try to load one it gives me a blackscreen.
 
Deleting the options file should just cause the game to reset all settings to default. No idea why that should influence the savegame screenshots though.
That's weird. On that black screen, can you post the log files, please?

Just tested this, but cannot confirm. Worked fine for me. :shrug
 
I experienced that blank save screen before. just try clicking the profile icon.
