Hey Nathan,

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />

Good to see you. I will send the save. What email do you want me to use? I have one from last year.

Fred Bob: Heard a squeak, and there was the, err, delivery.
Thanks!

Jason:
nkell@optonline.net
or
nathankell@piratesahoy.net

Either works.

Thanks, on both counts. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Save sent. Thanks for looking into this. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Two glitches so far, one positively murderous and the other a happy accident. If either's already been mentioned ignore me, but I can't be bothered to read 15 pages:

The nice one is that my person or my ship seems to be impervious to harm sometimes. Happens occasionally when I start a new game, or buy a ship... haven't noticed yet whether the ship thing sticks with any new ship I may buy.

The ghastly one is, I guess, a corrupt saved game... when I try and load it I get an MS blue screen of death, something about my BIOS and an obscure DLL file. Seems to wreak some manner of havoc on my machine, because it spends ten minutes dumping a disc image or something like that, and my video settings are reset when it boots back up. So I just don't play that save.

I'm wondering something - why is it when I go into a shop and "sell all" off of a captured ship, that I end up spending a WEEK in the shop. Is it because the men are offloading all those cannonballs? Is this more of the "new realism"? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> I'm wrong and i don't know how delete this, sorry.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" /> Ahoy Cat!

You can change the time that your crew spend loading and unloading goods in Building.h

#define TIME_MOVEGOOD 1 //time in minutes for 1 crewman to move 1 unit of a good. Also, no matter the crew, this * goods qty /10 is added in minutes.

I spent a lot of time to find this <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" /> and i've changed to 1. Default is 30.

Ciao

Anudder issue dat Fred Bob be encounterin' in de Build 12 RC3 release candidate dat oughta be addressed at some point:

Instantaneous Nightfall: Fer some reason durin' a long sea battle, de sky all de sudden kin turn from day tew night in almost nuttin' flat! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

Yeh, FB, that's quite funny... I was once battling a Xebec BR and it's Tartana companion with my lugger, when it suddenly turned to night, and I suddenly couldn't see anything and they sunk me... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Is that toggleable?

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Oh that happened to me, too... And I thought it was just me... My graphics card doing weird things... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

I also have experienced spending a day, not a week in a shop and the going from dark to light or vice versa during a battle. I assumed that this along with preventing you from using "sail to" during a battle and sometimes preventing instant boarding because you are too closse to the other ship were part of the new realisim. It is my understanding that these realism mods have done over time by various individuals and added.

Since one person's realism could be another person's pain in the butt, maybe we should get a list of these changes most of which seem to be tweakable in build settings, and a group of you should decide which will be included and which will be optional.

Then maybe Sir Christopher could give us a luciid explanation of what changed and how to tweak it in the read me.

Speaking of realism, I think it is fine to spend some time fixing the ship, maybe it could vary based on how much damage, but do you have stand there for the two days? Ditto unloading cargo. And why does it take two days if you just selling prizes in the ship yard.

I know it is probably to late to change this for build 12, but maybe for the futrue.

I know I am speaking for many when I say we all appreciate the hard work you do make this a really superior game.

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Thanks

I've run into the same behavior. Suddenly, night falls... with a thud! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_eek.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="icon_eek.gif" />

There is a post about that, realistic shipyard time by CouchcaptainCharles

<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net/ftopic3147.php" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net/ftopic3147.php</a>

Here you can learn how change time spent in shipyard and if you do nothing, you don't spnd any time.
see you all.
Ciao

I kind of enjoy the new time change feature ("oh, neat!" I said to myself upon first witnessing it), though there should be a "thud" sound effect for the suddenness...

Yeah, that perhaps ought to be toggleable. I didn't realize it happened without transition; the one time I did see it there _did_ seem to be some transition; and I'd have wagered most times it happened would be via sailto, which has a `fade-out`.

Brings a new image to the phrase, "Morning has broken" ! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I have a couple of concerns regarding armor and sword protection...

I bought a Portuguese military skin to use on tough boardings (when multiple enemy started to SHOOT at me - how RUDE!), and notice that even when I'm NOT wearing the armor, the log reports that it's protecting me anyhow. (this is the message, "slips by" the armor or "is stopped" by the armor)

When I am NOT wearing the armor, it seems like while it protects me when I'm swinging my sword, the sword block does little if anything to protect me when I am blocking. I am finding myself getting killed quite regularly by thugs in the jungle, when I should NOT be getting killed - I am carrying an excellent Solingen Rapier, which has something like 70 (or 90?) blocking - that does not seem to block now that I have armor (even when I'm not wearing it!). No, it's not because they shoot me a couple of times, and anyhow, the armor is STILL supposed to protect me at least SOMEWHAT from that...

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> HarrRUMPH!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/diomed.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dio" border="0" alt="diomed.gif" /> This is not good! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Nathan? Is this a bug, or intentional? It's kinda weird, because it seems like the armor cancels out the sword block instead of augmenting it... And I can't do anything to get rid of the armor/skin effect now, I'm stuck with it, even when I'm not wearing it, it "protects" me... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Sounds like a bug, yes. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
If you'd be so kind as to send the save--I mean, last time I looked I thought the code worked, but there's probably something in there...
