Fixed Divide the Plunder Mode

Would you mind putting a quick summary of the exact problem? Just so in the future we won't have to quick through to the other thread?

Okay, :p. The morale code of the Divide the Plunder mode is not right.
Two members have experienced more than 100 days of not dividing the plunder while in that mode but the crew did not mutiny.

In short:
Crew does not mutiny even if plunder is not divided after some time in Divide the Plunder Mode.

I have my crew on privateering. In every game I have played in 3.2 the crew demand salary when I visit the blacksmith in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Bonaire. This occurs even though they have signed articles.

Wha? Why would the blacksmith have anything to do with that!?!

Are you doing anything specific at the blacksmith? Something that takes a lot of time?
If I recall, some salary payment code was added for ashore; perhaps that one doesn't have the "Divide the Plunder" check added.

That sounds like it. No check added. It is common to have the pay period come up in the blacksmith shop when you have a lot of weapons to repair.

When I check Beta 3.1 vs. Beta 3.2, I'll make sure to pay attention to this one too. :yes

Does anyone play on Divide the Plunder these days? If I understand correctly, we have two issues:
- Crew still asks for salary even if you are on Divide the Plunder mode
- Crew remains happy long after 180 days have passed since the beginning of the expedition

Does this (still) happen?

Would someone be willing to play on Divide the Plunder Mode and see what it takes to get your crew to become unhappy?
Alternatively, see how long you can keep your crew happy without sharing the loot with them.
This should, ideally, not far exceed half a year of game time.

I'm currently playing the "Assassin" story again under Beta 3.3, though not quite the latest version - it dates back to 4th November. At the moment I'm stuck on the mission where you have to kill an officer at Hopital fort because I can't find him, so I've checked the walkthrough and will try again looking harder at where it says he should be. If he still doesn't show up, you'll be getting some saved game files and log files.

Otherwise, this was the storyline in which, under an earlier version, I kept the super xebec going for years without paying the crew, so I'll see if I can do it again.

You might want to post about that on the Assassin storyline forum. Then at least people can support you on that one.
This thread has nothing to do with quest issues, so probably @Bartolomeu o Portugues and @Talisman wouldn't check it.

Yes, if I continue to have problems finding the officer, I will report there. The point here is that, provided I do find him and don't get stuck elsewhere, I'll be able to put the crew payment system to the test. It was during the last play through the same storyline, under Beta 3.2, that I switched to "Divide plunder" and never paid the crew again, so the question becomes, can I do the same thing again?

Besides, I completed the whole storyline under Beta 3.2, admittedly with a lot of help from the walkthrough. If I can't do the same now, it may be a problem new to Beta 3.3...

If it indeed doesn't work in Beta 3.3, it would make sense for this to be on a replaced town.
Other than that, I don't think any relevant code has been touched.

Update just to close off this thread diversion: I found the officer. He wasn't where I expected because I was getting him confused with the officer you have to kill during the "Angelique Moulin" side quest. :facepalm I did try searching the rest of the fort and still didn't find him, nevertheless after I'd looked at the walkthrough and knew where he was supposed to be, there he was. As for replaced towns, the only one I'm expecting trouble with is Oranjestad and I won't be there for some time. Especially since I'm not that far into the story, a newer version of Beta 3.3 has been released, so I'm going to install that and restart...

When you do start with the new Beta version, you can use ENABLE_CHEATMODE to skip forward to the point where you are now.
Saves you the trouble of playing the same part twice.

Challenge for players: How long can you play on Divide the Plunder mode without actually sharing anything with the crew?
And how long can you keep their Morale proper high?

Currently about 470 days, morale 98% - 99%, provided I only have my super-xebec. During that part of the "Cannons of Isla Mona" quest in which I had to escort a ship to Cozumel and back, capturing a big French warship at Cozumel, morale started to drop, though it never went below 92%. I don't know if the crew of the ship being escorted counted against me. After I'd sold the warship, morale went back up again.

1.5 YEARS!?!? That is... uhm.... perhaps a little bit too long.
Looks like this does indeed need to be looked into.

For reference, what difficulty level are you on? Can't remember if that influences it, but it might play a role.
