Endeavour

aHA! i noticed a mistake! the ladder along the side is supposed to be twice as wide at the bottom until the middle of the hull, where there's a little awning with a door on the aft-most half of the ladder where you can enter the ship. above the awning, the ladder is the width it has now. i know this, as i've been to Portsmouth to actually see the Victory this vacation. of course, this is the Endavour, not the Victory, but the Victory does have the little door in the side.

I tried to fix the cannons on the Endeavour by taking the cannon locators from Endeavour_canns.GM and putting them into Endeavour.GM, replacing the current locators. However, now the cannons don't fire anymore at all. I have no idea why. If Razor or Kazeite could please have a look at attached file to find out what's wrong, that'd be most appreciated.

I've looked those locators over and I don't know what's wrong <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Hmmm... Just looking at the file in HEX, here's what I see.

Cannons LEFT (cannonsl) = locator #1-#45 (45 cannons)
Cannons RIGHT (cannonsr) = locator#46-#60,#70-#99 (45 cannons)
Cannons FRONT (cannonsf) = MISSING
Cannons BACK (cannonsb) = MISSING

I don't know if the skipped and/or missing cannons have anything to do with the problem. I do know that ALL the working GM files I look at this way always have "cannonsf" and "cannonsb" grouped in approximately the same area as "cannonsl" and "cannonsr" (and every single one of them has entries for cannonsf and cannonsb). And this file is different in that respect.

The Endeavour model has no bow and stern cannons, so that's why those locators are missing. Perhaps if we'd add some bow and stern cannon locators, they would work? Also: Perhaps Razor could add some bow and stern cannon models like he added the four additional bow chasers on the Flying Dutchman? Still I can't imagine why the absence of the bow and stern cannons has any influence on the starboard and port batteries. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

hmm nice making the vco lvl 10 battle ship into the vco is a grand idea but the back is a bit flat i think ... it all looks forced together and i think there was a balcony there in the movie granted no scene took place there .. but that is just my statement.

aside from that looks good

guess it looks like it is out father in the movie than normal then. Still it looks good aside from that and if you all are still having trouble with the chase guns how about buck shot cannons with 190 degree angle that may work ? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/poet.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hmm" border="0" alt="poet.gif" /> or may not no idea there but i can not wait to have it anyway keep up the good work

maybe it's possible to put a few swivel-guns on the stern. it's possible to increase a single fireing arc, as you can see with the gunboat. the problem is that they would be 32-pound swivel-guns. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

huzzah!

yer the modler here I know, but any chance to add a bunch more rigging? look up a book called stephen beistys cross-sections man-of-war it's a cut away of HMS victory wich is what endeaver is based on.

ya might want to lower her in the water a bit as well.

<img src="http://graymonk.mu.nu/archives/photographs/victory_in_dock/HMS%20Victory%20from%20harbour%20cropped.JPG" border="0" class="linked-image" />
good image of the rigging ya can see how thick it is in there

<img src="http://www.solarnavigator.net/history/explorers_history/hms_victory_battleship_black_and_white2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
classic picture of her from 1884, you can see how low she sits in the water.

see where the walkway enters the hull? that's the little awning i'm talking about, although you can't see it on those pics.

good call on that one morgan, yer right. and most people do miss that. Razor ya planning on adding the cat heads and giant anchors and the ship's boats and stuff as well?

better?

<img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t140/000Razor00/POTC/ev2.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

definatly. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> if you're up for it, how about adding some yard lifts and bracelines?

Sorry to be so picky here, but it really gets to me.

Do you think the mizzen mast could be edited from as it appears in "A" to how it looks in "B"?
<img src="http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h300/_Commodore_John_Paul_Jones/flagdiagram.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

The ensign's size and position and the gaff/boom's length, extra length hanging for'ard of the mast, and height from eachother really bother me.
