First attempts in skinning

Anyway, yes that's exactly what i ment.
P.S: it would look best if both lines were of equal width, with a bottom half to the middle gun line, since my idea of splitting it would leave that line with a top half but no bottom half.
and i noticed that the lower line isn't completely yellow, like in the stern of the ship, it has a black patch where yellow is supposed to continue, and it is a bit thin in places where it's supposed to fill that gold outline
 
to be sure to understand correctly i made again to scheme, with paint, (on the true one, the lines will be of the same width and, of course, very clean <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I had noticed the line on the lower line, but i was wondering if i should make it entirely yellow or if i should let it like that because if found that little black part not too bad... ^^ I'll make it yellow <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

lovely, but one suggestion, why not make it lufthansa yellow, a kind of orangy tint to it, like the victory, other than that its as good as a british battleship can get.
Now, why not make a spanish and french version [ i'm sure you know more than i do about French Naval Colours <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />] of them.
and why not see what we can do about the other Battleship?
and maybe a Manowar for the french and spanish fleets, since there is a british one in the making [Captain Spectre's H.M.S Victory].
 
i find that orangy tint nice too (also the same one on the H.M.S Surprise) i'll make a new version with that tint, anyway i had to smooth the lines on the present one.

The idea of other nations battleships is very nice, it may be a little long but i'll see what i can do.

I'll wait a little to begin manowars (i don't know if i have enought competences yet to do it but i agree that they need a reskin, especially the green and white one >__>)

Does anyone want to try and use the fearless model to make the HMS <i>Indifatigable</i> from Hornblower? That would look cool, especially with that white ensign!
 
I've uploaded "battleship skin improved.zip" on the ftp, enjoy, i've begun work on a new battleship skin but it'll take longer, i've new things to learn and to face <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Which one was the HMS <i>Indifatigable</i>?
Was it the flagship from Admiral Laytons Squadron or the high admirality flag ship at the end of the movie?
 
Well, here is the french version of the battleship.

First, i would say that this ship skin won'be totally perfect with little glitches à the up of the rear and little glitches on the side of the deck, i've tried for two hours to resolve that but it seems impossible, i don't know the hell why, i had to let the less serious glitches ton conserve a better ship aspect, sorry about that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

WOW, its lovely.
one thing though; why didn't you put that kind of wood detailing on the other one? you can see the planks really well on this one and they add to the feel of the ship.
 
Because of a technical problem that i was not expecting, i coudn't use the same technic as usual on the hull without loosing détails, by this way, the ship would have looked cell shaded. I had to change the textures of the hull and I needed a texture with white wood but i couldn't adapt the one i had found. I had to change the textures of the hull and I adapted the texture of the second battleship skin <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> more over, the previous ship was in majority, black, that would have masked the details on the plank.

I think that now i'll see what i can do with lineships to complete the english war fleet and continuing the french one.
 
The <i>Indifatigable</i> is Sir Edward Pellew's frigate. She mounts 44 guns and has a suprisingly similar hull design to the <i>Fearless</i>.
