H.M.S Bounty

i totally agree....thats why im saying ^^ as far as i have seen, the men of war have lots of sails, even the small ones....

what's a lot? in which century? three square sails on a mast was pretty normal. staysails only came into use on the big ship in the mid 18th century, and studding sails as well. in fact, in that same age, big ships still often had two square sails on a mast. those huge amounts of small sails above each other where only used until much later on big ships, though they where occasionally used on the smaller ones.

i guess im more accostumed with the ships of the end of the 18th century only them ^^ im not sure about the epoch now, but it is more like that....i have seen at least twenty men of war with 12-16 sails....the ones with less than 8 sails were, in my opinion, the small or light ships....but it was my opinion when i was a kid, so it is quite ingenuous, you can see <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

i agree with the lots of sails thing but, if i'm not mistaken certain countries used alot more flag looking sails than others. i think if this one is a brittish style ship maybe it would look more historically accurate to add some extra brittish colored sails like signal sails or whatever they call small triangle sails attached to the rat lines. just a thought anyways. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/readon.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="readon.gif" />

Too bad. I hope you get it sorted soon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

sails attached to ratlines!? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Nice, but I still would do it with 3 sails, on the fore and main mast, and 2 (with the gaffsailnot counted, or how do you call it) on the last mast

what happened to the courses? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> if they're like that because the yards are braced, this could be better than it normally is though, since i know that sails tend to warp then.

the biggy blacky bottom square saileys. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

ooo now that explains everything (almost) there to small or what ??? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/keith.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":keith" border="0" alt="keith.gif" />

She looks like a ship ready for Desert Storm <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> (the hull, I mean). I know that will be changed, by the way. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

All right! Lookin' sharp! And despite what I've feared, the hull does appear to interact correctly with the waves <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

But what the hell is wrong with those ratlines? They look so weird... And obviously, textures could use more work - but at least they are finally present <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I have a request - could you park <i>Bounty</i> next to the other ship, so we can see relative size difference?

Wow; I'm impressed. REAL pretty. Good job! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

that's a very nice looking ship! but the ratlines are indeed kinda jumbled. one of them seems to be upside-down, and i think that they're attached too low to the mast. try placing the crow's nests higher.
