I'm still working on Ugly Smuggler Fast Barque

I noticed your self-ironic description for your ships as being "cannon-fodder" Petros.
If we just say for a moment, that it could be a reference to the many 100 or more gun-ships, made recently, making more fast and small ships for the Build would be a valuable point of view in the game-balancing discussion in another thread, as we all know how rare 64 guns or more was in the 1600´s.
Your ships are both appreciated ships-of-choice for a lot of members in here and nessecary for this mod, I think <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Why "ugly"?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

UGLY!! WHO said that?? i will kick his ass!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> That's a GREATE! texture!

more so, it's probably going to be used in the main quest. that's not that insignificant at all.

"necessary for this mod" yeah, as cannon fodder. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" /> But don't worry, I'm not complaining right now.

The way I play my game, I allow no ships above class 2 to appear, and I'm working on eliminating the Frigates and Corvettes as well.

I like to think of the period I sail in as 1500's to mid 1600, although 150 years is a very long life span.

So that is why I have done Fleuts, a Caravel, several Galleons, and now a barque.
My favorites are the Light Caravel, and the Light Galleon (modified fleut) although to start a game, my Ketch is nice and I'm getting used to sailing (looking) at my fast barque.

Why don't you make a 1600's frigate? You had some of those back then. They were pinnaces adjusted so they could serve as warships. I like those Dutch frigates of the mid 17th century very much.

Sweeeeeet little boat ..ship! I have to admit that using this fast barque is much better than using a caravel (for me anyways <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />). I mean that you have alot more chance to dodge the cannon fire with this ..barque. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Btw when i was experimenting with that barque i found something really ...wierd <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />:
<img src="http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc220/Cylon13/wtf.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
He was just standing there. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Yeah, forgot about that.
I guess it's from the original yacht.walk file, but I never used the yacht before so didn't know.
The fix just requires lowering that one walk point. I am feeling too lazy to make a new one now but I guess I will for the Build13.5 release.

It get's even worse BTW. When you go to battle stations, some of the crew go to man the cannons.
The rest, usually 2 but sometimes 3, run over and then stand in that spot. It's like they are trying to hide in my cabin!

looks almost like a cockpit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />)

So that's why that rat was standing in me cabin <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> ..throught the roof/floor of course. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Apart from that Yacht issue ..this fast barque is AMAZING!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" /> Sheesh i was even able to dodge nelson crowd's (just two huge ships ..one was battleship and the other was that old black pearl model with cannons added at stern section too) cannons with crapy character skills ..i was able to (with all this huge mess! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> ) raid 3 ships bigger than mine (sloop/ketch, war schooner and shnhyava thingy) everthing went well until i got surprised by this battleship what took me ship's middle mast out and health almost out while i was attempting to catch this bloody darned brig! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" /> Ah! don't care because my ship's cargo hold was full anyways and some wierdly way i got out from that mess alive even when the ship was almost to sink and i even went throught a storm on the way to pirate port! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> ..ok i really need some rum now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/beer2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":beer" border="0" alt="beer2.gif" /> <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/nerbz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nerbz" border="0" alt="nerbz.gif" />

Btw way i did not even cheat (those cheats at numpad) because i really wanted to know that if this ship is good or not ..I'm going to say that its the second best little ship i'v used. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

EDIT: Oh and Petros, how can the ship store cargo if it doesn't have place called "cargo hold" when walking on decks and cabins? Eh? Well its easy to fix -
just add <i>refShip.CargoHold = 1;</i> in fast barque's ship init data somewhere. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/hi.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":gday" border="0" alt="hi.gif" />
The smaller ships only get, Captain's cabin, crew quarters, and deck. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

"Deck" in these cases is not a gun deck as in the larger ships, but the cargo hold, as this is a small vessel.
Glad you're having fun with it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate_plain.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p3" border="0" alt="pirate_plain.gif" />

Ok. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

She's DONE! AWESOME! Thanks a lot, Petros! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />
The chance for a certain type of ship appearing depends on the amount of those ships in the game. If you keep making smaller ships, the bigger ones will become less common. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Anyway I think we should add a chance attribute to all ships so that we can make bigger ships more uncommon. There's really too many of them right now, don't you think?

I put her in my game now. Nice job, Petros!!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

Yes, i agree with you <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> ..even i have seen those big buggers way too often. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

Good. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Because i don't care what yacht model has down there but I AM pretty sure that even the yacht has rooms/space in bottom.

couldn't we change so we could start with some more interesting ships in the alpha 8?? like this one <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

It's easy in Build 13. Just replace one of the ships listed in InternalSettings.h
What is the process for Build 14?
