Modding for COAS

Thats what I'm hoping, Pieter. The engine itself is very impressive, as is everything that Seaward has done with it.

They've already added piles of things to this engine that we have been working on for build for a very long time, as well as things that we only wished we could do.

The AoP 2 engine is eminently worth making noise about getting it fully unlocked for modding.

If Akella notes that the majority of players want an 'open' game, yes it could do that. Otherwise, I don't think so.
 
Like I said, if Akella/Playlogic don't want to do it, we still have the option of asking seaward.ru.
So far they've proven very willing to help us and they actually WANT us to move to CoAS at some point,

Maybe, you should send to seaward.ru a message explaining that. We only move to COAS if the PROGRAM folder is open. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
I'm not going to do that until we're prepared to indeed port over. Which is not going to be any time soon. But perhaps if we get a lot of new members upon release of CoAS, we'll end up with enough people to consider it.
 
If anyone has gotten out how to COAS in the "Black Pearl" (Model: Frigate)
Insert can - not replace - I would be grateful to know.

I saw the Coas trailer only today from the official site, except for some locations (like the spanish fort) I'm interested in this game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Sincerely, I'm not impressed... But, it's just a trailer I should play the game to have a real idea if one day it is released. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

If that is the case, we cannot answer the question, because CoAS isn't even out yet.

At the moment, I'm only interested in some locations. Arrrgg.. If I adapt the Bartolomeu main quest to CoAs in the future, be sure I will use the Spanish fort we can see in the trailer. (Hehe what a pity this location can't be in the build mod <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />o) )
 
Theoretically at least, we probably COULD add it to the Build mod. The CoAS location models are probably compatible with PotC. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

To me at least, there's just something about the characters in both AoP and CoAS that looks somewhat off.
Some of the characters look too Japanese-manga-like, some look too "modern".
I really like the PotC ones; they look right, even though they might be a bit underdetailed by today's standards.

About the locations, it would be fun if someone owning CoAS could put some screenshots in this topic of the most interesting locations of this game. (like the Spanish fort). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />

What a pity that Captain Caceres didn't release at the moment some new locations. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

About the fort, is it the model we can see in the official trailer ? (where we can see some spanish soldiers walking).

Because, this location could be used as quest location in the Bartolomeu main quest. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Yes Bartolomeu, it's this one. If you want I can upload it on FTP. Pieter, I think ships float like this cause I didn't import the good *.tga.tx. Anyway for the moment I just need the "shore" with

What is it supposed to look like then? And what about that new Caribbean map? Were you planning on importing the CoAS one?
