Pirates of the Caribbean: Community Prequel Script

Think so, yes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Yep, improve fluency, add a few snippets here and there. Just a clean up and content adding. Maybe someone will have an idea pop into their head after trying to improve it that we can add a whole other scene. Well, happy New Years everybody. Stay warm (if you live somewhere like that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )

Be sure to check out the <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11358" target="_blank">Musings on The Setting of Pirates of The Caribbean</a> thread. OddjobXL and I are having some interesting thoughts on the world of PotC, what happened before CotBP and what would happen after AWE. Feel free to join in. We might be able to use this in this scripts or the AWE sequel script.

Ahoy mateys!

Sorry for not beeing here for a while.
I got stuck in holydays and that stuff so I didn't had the chance to write.

Marry Xmass and Happy New Year.

No problem. Neither did we. Apart from the discussion between OddjobXL and me in the thread I posted two posts above, that is. Certainly worth checking that one out. Lots of thoughts, mostly on a sequel to AWE.

No problem, we all did in a sense. Now we can commence though with tightening up what we have written so far and then moving on the many good ideas that have been posted. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I think there are some phrases that can be worded better. And we need to add more content to some scenes, because they are terribly short. Remember that the length of the scene is only as long as it takes for the characters to read their lines, and a few seconds of visual effects. Like my scene of the destroyed pirate ship, 45 seconds at the most is what it will take to finish it, i would like to push it to a minute and a half at the LEAST.

i know what you mean. i made a movie with some others once, and it had to last 20 minutes. we thought we had the required time, but it was in fact only 4 minutes. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

You'd just need to add some shots of them sailing around, shooting pirates in the water or something.
A couple of things:
- Should Annamaria be part of Jack's crew? If so, I think she should actually have some part to play, rather than just be there, mentioned once, then forgotten. Actually I think she shouldn't be there at all. At least not straight from the beginning.
- I think we should re-read the Commodore's opening story. There's some good unused stuff in there that we can put back in.

AGH! Of course with my site being down, the whole script is down momentarily as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

I just used her name as a filler for the moment. I didnt want to put her in there personally. I will look over the Commodores script again.

That definitely is a head banger. Maybe it would be interesting to have Annamaria in there.

I like Annamaria's character in CotBP; would be nice to have her back. But if she's back, she must also have a real part to play. Not someone to hang around in the background. That is why I think she shouldn't be there straight from the beginning; she should be introduced into the story properly at some point and actually be given something to do. I suppose replacing the French captain with Annamaria would be a bit too much of a good thing though. But perhaps Annamaria could come back in the AWE sequel as well. I'd like to have her absence from DMC and AWE explained.

Ted and Terry said that Tia Dalma was partly a replacement for Annamaria, but really I don't think that worked very well. I absolutely HATE Tia Dalma, especially after her oh-so-mysterious-but-completely-obvious references to Will being destined to become the captain of the Flying Dutchman in AWE. WE GET THE POINT! And her suddenly becoming really big and damaging the Pearl's deck doesn't help either. Now I do like the AWE film, but those scenes bother me. A LOT. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />

The script is available again! Find it <a href="http://pafiles.com/build/pb_files/potc_hoist_the_colours.htm" target="_blank">here</a>.

Another thought: Perhaps Sao Feng could play a role in the Indonesia episode of our story? I thought his character was much underused in AWE; we never got the chance to really get to know him. So perhaps we could use him again so that his part in the series is expanded to be a bit more substantial?

Gentlemen and Officers,

Been away looking for work with only a little success.

Lots of moves on the script well done everyone.
I will catch up as fast as possible.

The Land Ho scene is funny. As Land Ho is called, I imagine Jack leaving the cabin and as he passes Mercer making the passing comment about the land. Mercer could watch him leave and then say "I wanted so much to to shoot you" as he puts the gun away and heads for the cabin door.

Hey Jacarutu nice to have you back. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Pieter i too HATE Tia Dalma, her speech is sooo hard to understand that i have lost all interest in this character. I do think Annamaria would be good to add. I just put her in the original script because i wanted to see your guys reaction.

PS Everyone, the script is up, look over it for things that need be fixed, added, or cut. PLEASE DO THIS!! WE are falling behind schedule again. Disney starts thinking about the script on 2009!! And yesterday it has become 2008!! We have one year gentlemen.

Pieter do you think it would be wise to contact Ted and Terry about this script? Early on i mean. Just to see if they will accept it. Because i know it might be better if we finish it, but it takes only one two letter word, and a few sentences explaining why to ruin all we have accomplished. (Sorry to be Johnny Raincloud AGAIN). <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

That's interesting, we had Mercer saying just that in one of the variations. Maybe that does fit.
