PotC Build 12 Release Announcement

I got that problem, when I installed build 12 over fresh POTC install ("no locators for locator.monsters" error). I fixed this by installing build 12 over build 11 installation.
 
Mmm, can't wait to try it out. My main beef with the installer is that opens and closes the connection with each file. And it makes my 8 mbit line behave like a 56k modem. The only time I see some real speed with the installer is when the file is larger then a few kb.

Ah well, it'll be done sooner or later. And it'll keep me entertained until I get my hands on Pirates!

Curses. Looks like I'll hafta wait till someone comes up with a whole file, instead of the intarweb installer... silly `limited-access` campus computers and no connection at home.

Build12 vs Buid 11.99beta

Thanks to Free Bob workaround, I downloaded the build12 on a temp directory and I have copied the files in a previous build11 installation.

All seems working fine, but NPG voices introduced by build 11.99beta are lost, have enyone notice of this problem?

However, GREAT WORKS, THANKS A BILLIONS MODDER.

<b>LordMacAlpin, </b>you can uninstall Build 12 (and rollback to Build 11 if you saved files replaced by Build 12) by going into the Add/Remove Programs utility in your Windows Control Panel. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
I have made back up files.I never had build 11 ,so is it the same fer just this thing.Sorry but I like the changes I had made tew my game,along with yer color change tew the frig,but this build wont let me do any of it.And I'm sorry but my play time is precious tew me and I started at 11 am this morn and still can't play the game.Tew me its a waste of time.No offence is meant just I'm a gamer not a modder and game time is sparce fer me.

I have installed build 11 And when i try to install build 12 it says:
ERROR!
An installation of Pirates of the Caribbean was not found on the system. Please make sure that PotC is installed and functionating before installing the build.

First a very BIG thanks to all modders involved in the 12.

Boat Sweeper, I had that one too: Start all over again with installing a new fresh POTC (and check that it works).

Sirius Darke, When I installed build 12 over build 11 over POTC it only resulted in that terrible black screen trying to open a new game.

Try this: open an old savegame and make an "I".
Everything now stopped but when I restarted the computer all was ok.

Gday All,

I am despirate, I installed build 12 and now I run POTC and a black screen will apear.

Dont know what did wrong, I installed last night build 12 and it was almost finisched and it said something (I cant remember <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> ) a fold and now i see the blackscreen.

Can someone help me? Do u only have to install build 12? or do I need a early version?

I think that you have a EURO version, as you seem to live in the Netherlands. I think you should wait until a patch comes out for the EURO Build 12 people. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Yeah I got the same problem. I was downloading it into a seperate folder ( it finally worked) and then this error message appeared.
Are there any files after this one ?

I just wanted to download it , I will wait for the EURO patch
 
I downloaded the entire patch using the registry method mostly because I thought it would take to long over a dialup at home. Then after reading all the posts about having problems with a clean install I started the dialup upgrade from home. Actually took less time to do the upgrade from home the DSL download from work.

My problem is that my saved games do not seem to work even after reinitializing. All of the keys seem to have shifted. Once I go in and default all the controls then return to the game it works for a while. Usually first broadside from my MOW causes the PC to reboot. I am running XP Pro an an ASUS motherboard with a 3gHz P4, 512meg ram, an ATI Radeon 9800SE and an 80gbyte Western Digitial.
