Pre Build 13 Modpack

so many men against you, no one to back you up. you could use godmode when boarding and keep it off the rest of the time.

whats the fun in that <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

BTW I think ive found another bug, sometimes the cannons dont make any sound. I hear the music and other sound effects but sometimes no cannons.

oh, and about the no-collision-detection-with-sidestep thing, I've found that it does detect collisions with other NPCs.

I'll try to get that bug fixed soon. I might know how it's caused, so I might be able to fix it. Not sure though... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

That bug with no cannons sound has bee reported before. Although I know it does happen, I don't know why. It seems as if the game just sometimes "forgets"! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

<b>News about the Post Build 12 download:</b> The file is now available from the main PA! files database. The links on my site have been changed to point to the PA! file database too. However, the file will remain on my webspace as well, just in case there are some dial-up downloaders who are still downloading it. I don't want to disable their download halfway into the downloading. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" />

Until the boarding bug is fixed, there's only one method to have a backup while boarding. Get 2 or 3 officers, equip them with good swords maybe some guns too. And don't forget healing potions! Then you should have a good chance of surviving....... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />
It's just annoying when you have a real good officer and he gets killed. That happened to me twice.
I could bite in the keyboard!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dp_nogd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ng" border="0" alt="dp_nogd.gif" />

Today I have been boarding some small ships that still use the old boarding deck and I did have crew members with me. However, I have not tested the new boarding decks. Maybe somehow you don't get your crew with you on the new boarding decks? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

This problem seems random, sometime I've boarding crew with new and old deck, other time I haven't with each deck.

Maybe it depends on the size of the ship you are boarding??
I had some backup when I entered a small Fleute but when I entered a big spanish warship there wasn't anybody with me. Although I got messages that weapons were taken from the weapon's locker.

Could someone explain at this point, what is meant by "Boarding Bug"

If it is that boarding crew are not always present, this might not be a bug at all.

One thing doesn't change and that is that your officers will always go with you if they are assigned.
But the size of the rest of the boarding crew will depend on several factors.

Almost a year ago, Nathan Kell set the conditions for boarding crew to include things like crew size and morale vs enemy crew size and morale.
I believe other conditions include your leadership skill vs enemy captain's skill as well.

well ive boosted my leadership skill, got my crew full with high morale, still noboby fighting cept my trusty officers, and the enamy of corse.

also I found a few more bugs.

1. I seem to be able to place any size carronade on my ship. For exapmle, if my ship says it has a limit of 12lb cannons I can still install 24lb carronade, I limit does work with the long shot cannons however.

2. Bullets and powder dont seem to be required for the guns, all of my and my officers pistols reload just fine without it, also its not used up when I do have it.

3. The information in the trade book is inaccurete. Ill bought some stuff that a place was exporting and sold it at a place that was inporting it and sold it for less then I bought it

4. Not really a bug but their are some user add trees and foliage in the expanded parts of some towns (like oxbay) and I just gotta say their ugly as sin (they look like giant solid green crystels) and really clutter up the place.

Haven't "boarded" as such yet with the new Modpack. Taken a few surrendered prizes only. Will be testing this next.

Captain Teck.

Re 1. This is not a bug as far as I know. You can install carronades up to twice the weight of your long guns. e.g. If your maximum allowable gun (shot) weight is 9lb then you can install up to 9lbr long guns or 18 lbr carronades.

Re 2. I've noticed this, too, and I can't remember it being in the ammo mod as first introduced. I've noticed, not so much with crew or officers but with my main character that the final shot of any ammo type is never expended... i.e. your always left with one round. Having said that it would seem thattrying to fire this "magical" last shot is always ineffective, much like when your crew try to fire with no ammo... no effect.

Don't know about 3. or 4. yet.

Cheers <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Are these ammobugs something that appeared lately? Havn´t downloaded latest modpack & tested myself yet. I´ll have to look at it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ib012.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cry" border="0" alt="ib012.gif" />

I plead guilty to that <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> But at least those ugly crystals serve their purpose: without them people would complain "Help, I left Greenford and was suddenly in Redmond" <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> Now the location looks different, even if it may be ugly as sin (Well, it's supposed to be a suburb <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> )

<!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>New modpack update</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
I have made a new modpack update that is available from <a href="http://pieter.piratesahoy.org/downloads/update_09-02-2006.zip" target="_blank">here</a> (1,95 MB). It contains several bugfixes, as well as CCC's land locations for Antigua. It does not contain the black boarding decks fix, because adding that made the download 7 MB larger. You can manually fix that by moving the <i>decks</i> folders from:
<i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\day</i> to <i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\day\locations</i>
<i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\evening</i> to <i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\evening\locations</i>
<i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\mn</i> to <i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\mn\locations</i>
<i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\storm</i> to <i>RESOURCE\Textures\lighting\storm\locations</i>

For everything to work the way it should, you might have to start a new game. With a bit of luck, it will work without starting a new game, but it remains recommended to start a new game anyway... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

The trade book, as a general guide, is probably accurate.

However, one factor to consider is one's "Commerce skill"
With a low commerce skill you almost always loose money trading.

Another change made to the game a year ago involves fluctuating island economies.
Over time, that will make the "trade book" entries less accurate.

Hi Pieter
Ihave your latest 9.2.6 update.
A DIALOG bug. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
While walking in town npc talks to you, and dialog is a mix of officer wants to work for you, and you are
found out as pirate. if you press "OK" as in officer hire. dialogs go plank. press spacepar several times to get out of dialog. error log points here PROGRAM/DIALOGS/Enc_Walker.c

//SCREWFACE : RANDOM TREASURE QUEST GENERATOR---------------------------------------
case "why": <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> error log points here
d.text = DLG_TEXT[282];
link.l1 = DLG_TEXT[283];
link.l1.go = "why_2";

RANDOM TREASURE QUEST GENERATOR dialogs are not working. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
To test it: in start part of Enc_Walker.c.

switch(Rand(12))
{
case 0:
d.Text = DLG_TEXT[0];
Link.l1 = DLG_TEXT[1];
Link.l1.go = "skeletons";
Link.l2 = DLG_TEXT[2];
Link.l2.go = "exit";
break;

case 1:
// ccc Dec 05 You are recognized after raising pirateflag
if(CheckAttribute(Pchar,"orgnation") && Pchar.orgnation ==

Change switch(Rand(12)) to switch(12)
This way you allways go to case 12
As point of interest here is case 12

case 12:
d.text = DLG_TEXT[279];
link.l1 = DLG_TEXT[280];
link.l1.go = "why";
link.l2 = DLG_TEXT[281];
link.l2.go = "exit_out";
break;

Hope this helps to make pre 13 like this <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" /> and NOT like this <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />
your current modpack is like <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

could we get a list of the bugfixes? just wondering if it worth the massive download.

EDIT: Nvm just noticed its an update, not another pack <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> still a list of bugfixes would be cool <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
