Gibbs remains on Tortuga, while Jack goes on. A very good idea!
And about the storyline with the forum members. If you just rename or replace some characters, the stories won't have to go.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree with Gibbs and Tortuga <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

As for the storyline if I did replace them it would be extremly weird for them to be going to Turks and then disappearing for good (And I also don't want to have to come up with like 10 or more new names for characters)

An another option if you don't want players to do the Mings quest as much is to move Mings at the start of the game, so he is harder to find (harder to find = less likely that path is taken)
I would rather have the second option as:
1. less work for me <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
2. Easier to know that you aren't following the exact route of Jack Sparrow

But then nobody will play it, since nobody will know. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
As far as I'm concerned, we can keep it as-is. It doesn't do any harm and there is an alternate route available.

How about... we keep the navy officer in port and:
- If you don't talk to him, there'll be Brock and Blunden in the tavern
- If you do talk to him, Blunden will go and Mings will appear

Most people probably wouldn't talk to the guy anyway if they didn't know beforehand that they should.

I was going to remove Blunden as he is a dead end...

How about
- If you don't talk to him there'll be Brock in the tavern
- If you do talk to him, Mings will turn up (as he knows your no EITC man) upstairs
??

Speightstown is a two-level tavern, isn't it? Would the player bother checking upstairs?

Not sure... It is a two level tavern yes <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

The player might check upstairs but I'm not sure... me personally though, I wouldn't so he probably should be bottom level.

I just had a random idea based on random numbers <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

have four different locations in the port that mr EITC can turn up so you have to do something to find him (of course original location will remain as one of the locations)

Hmm... personally I think it should not be 100% obvious where Mings is,
but I wouldn't want to make him so hard to find that nobody is ever going to play that line.
So I'd just keep the EITC officer in port and then put Mings in the tavern after you talked to him.

Since you don't HAVE to talk to the EITC officer, there's a good chance that regular players won't.
But the slightly more discovery-oriented players would talk to him and would get to encounter Mings.
Then they still have the option: Brock or Mings.

The Turks storyline can stay as it is, but I mean in all the sidequests. They don't have to be stuffed full of forum members. Just funny if you encounter one, occasionally.

I agree with not making him 100% obvious but still possible to find him <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I have 3 different locations in port that are quite obvious that I can use for the EITC officer, the reason I want to move him about is everybody who has played the quest so far knows they <i>need</i> to talk to him at the moment and this will hopefully make some players think they don't need to talk to him anymore

Yep I know what you mean... There is only 5 characters like that I think (You, me, Pieter and Francois de Hadoque, Short Jack)

That is all <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />. No more needed.

Yep... I can't think of any other time I would need another forum member so that should be all <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
