Blaze Devlin/Devlin Opera : "New world symphony"?! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Master and commander > "Lucky Jack's commission"?

Horatio Hornblower > "Tales of the red ensign"?

"New world symphony"? Now that one I certainly like! They take place in the Early Explorers period, so that New World is certainly appropriate.
Symphony not so much, but it's fun anyway. And for whatever reason, the quest was originally named Opera, soo...? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> using such a name for the quest we should rename the character Anton Dvorjak <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I was also thinking about the form I employed for Hornblower, what about using it for J.Sparrow something like "Tales of the Jolly Roger" or something with "Jolly Roger"?

I think I'll leave the final storyline names up to the original writers of them, but I do like the "Tales of the ..." name.
For Hornblower I'm not convinced on it, just like I'm not convinced AT ALL on my own name for it either.
I think for dear old Horry, maybe the title of one of the books/stories would work?

For Jack Sparrow I'd like some sort of title that'd give the impression of sailor's/tavern stories where things are largely made up or exaggerated.
This to emphasis that this is just our own interpretation and non canonical in anyway. And it plays into the character of Jack too.
But how to make it work? "Tales of an Old Salt"? Better suggestions welcome; I'm still not convinced. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
Jolly Roger is nice too though. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

How about ye olde "Hoist the Colours" for the Jack Sparrow storyline name instead of Legend of Jack Sparrow?

Good idea! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I like 'Hoist the Colours' as well.
I also like the idea of being able to hear the story as the person remembers it (this will allow us to have the different journeys easily <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />).
At the start you can choose a character and that character is sitting looking at someone (Thagarr or someone [Old Salt is in story <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />])
And then a dialog opens up "This tale is about a certain pirate who none could kill, Captain Jack Sparrow, it is called Hoist the Colours and starts like this: 'Young Jack Sparrow has just arrived in the Caribbean and has sailed to Cayman island...'
and then you change the model to Young_Jack and start playing the game.
That is my suggestion

Or people in taverns are telling your stories, to drunk to recognize that you are the one they are telling about <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

That'd be a fair amount of work to change the storyline to something that is actually told as a story with several in-tavern cut-scenes.
It would be quite funny, though. A tavern opening-scene wouldn't be too hard to achieve, I should think.

Could have "50FatJack" doing the story-telling. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
So what about the storyline title? "Tall Ship Tales: Hoist the Colours"?
Better ones still appreciated. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Actualy, we could use that tavern part somewhat as an explanation of the "rules" for the storyline,
eg. the presence of trap quests and the different routes, etc.

One problem with a tavern opening... we get the wrong lighting problem back, probably. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />
So start the storyline outside the tavern, you walk in and get into a talk with this drunk sitting there.

Now that is a good idea <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Doesn't sound that bad actually <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Indeed, that IS pretty good. Works for me! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

I only just noticed this post sorry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Yep good idea "Now young Jack Sparrow could have gone about things a number of ways and some of these ways would have nasty consiquences"

As for the start how does:
- Have player walk through the town and into the tavern
- Sit down with the storyteller
- He asks you if you want to hear a tale
- Explains the start of the story
- Goes into Jack coming to the Caribbean and how Jack could have done many different things
- Jumps into actual storyline

As for the title: "Tales of the Burning Brig: Hoist the Colours"?

And as for who tells the story:
- Start Short Jack Gold
- Then just before you enter Port Royal Bartolomeu comes in to help <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
- And after the end of The Curse of the Black Pearl they either say "That concludes the tale" or "go and talk to those to men over there to hear more"
- Then Pieter and I continue the story <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Haha! That does sound good! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

And then after you have finished the quest you can talk to a man with model "50FatJack" and called "Jack Sparrow" to reload the Jack Sparrow story.
Or....
Walk out the tavern and live the life of your character then <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Beats me why you would want to play as your "own" character by that time, because that character isn't your OWN character anyway.
By that time, you'll have played a <i>looong</i>, long time as Jack Sparrow already, of course.
Your skills would be reset to 0 again and you wouldn't have any sidequests available either and stuff like that.

I wonder how serious we should be with this whole tavern thing...
Limiting ourselves to just a tavern prologue explaining the rules, a tutorial if you will, might be good enough....?
