Soleil Royal 1670

Hi Mates,
It took a long time to get the rigging done, now it is done , and looks not bad.
and i ajust the sails and added several tiny details onto the model.i think the modeling is finished now.

<img src="http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp314/shipwright23/Corsairs3_0103.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp314/shipwright23/Corsairs3_0105.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp314/shipwright23/Corsairs3_0106.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp314/shipwright23/Corsairs3_0111.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
<img src="http://i423.photobucket.com/albums/pp314/shipwright23/Corsairs3_0114.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

so there just two more jobs were left, 1 adding lights for the ship.
2 creating the sailor points file.

and then Release for everyone on the FTP.<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="8)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

good work.

for the sailorspoints try the following:

copy a existing sailorspoint. open it. are there 40 points for example than make this:
use only your path model and masts. create 40 locators. set every locator to any position on the deck and ratlines. export to a gm file and use TOOL to write the 40 locator points to a file.

copy the 40 locator files to the Copy of the sailorspoint file and you have it.

more pics of full rigged

You are brilliant. There is an easier way for making sailors points. You need the Akella tools, which contains a sailorpoints tool. You need to put the model in the ships directory, start up its engine exe, and so you can move points around.

Hi Thomas,i saw some posts and i asked mates, they said there is a tool but nobody knows how to use it. Is the tool you mentioned this "unable to use" thing?

anyhow,i don't know whether i can use it ,but i want to try it.would you tell me where can i get it?

thank you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

OH GOD! YOU are not yet a modder. So you couldn't see it. Stupid me.
Just a moment I will make you a modder, and give you the link.

<a href="http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=12623" target="_blank">http://forum.piratesahoy.net//index.php?showtopic=12623</a>
Now you have the power to get within the inner circle of the modder community. You should download the maya plugin + tools pack.

What you do with the sailor tool:
1. You go to it's directory and put your ship properly in, just as you did it with CoaS (it is a storm engine sort of program)/
2. Open SailorsEditor.ini and change the ship=Ships/Arabella1/Arabella1 to your own model and map name. Also change the save and load files, to the name of your own vessel. Save this and start the tool.
3. Now, in the upper left corner you can see a menu, navigate with the arrow keys to the second option and press enter.
4. With the INSERT button on your keyboard, you can add a point.
TYPE_NORMAL = a point which is used for normal walking.
TYPE_CANNON_L = point for reloading the guns (left side)
TYPE_CANNON_R = " " (right side)
TYPE_CANNON_F = " " (front)
TYPE_CANNON_B= " " (back)
TYPE_MAST1 = use for the left of right side (don't know exactly which side) as begin point in which the sailors should climb up the rigging.
TYPE_MAST 2 = end point of MAST1
TYPE_MAST 3 = Ditto 1
TYPE_MAST 4 = Ditto 2
TYPE_MAST 5 = no idea.

You can move these with the arrow keys.
Forward key = forward
Backward = backward
Left = Left
Right= Right
Up = Shift+Forward
Down = Shift+Backward

You can delete them with the button delete.
After you added all these points, you have to connect them. This, you can do with the option select path, with F2 and F3 you need to define the points which you want to connect. First you need to create a new one, so you push insert. If finished, repeat this project, so that all point are connected. You can cycle through all points by pressing spacebar, to select the things you want to edit.

And at least one person DOES know how to use that tool. But I'm still trying to get him to write a tutorial. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
How about it, eh, Thomas? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

HEY! That wasn't there yet when I posted! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
Can you put that in a sticky on the Shipwrights' Office forum? Or post it in the Akella Tools thread.

Those turning alphabets? It is supposed to function like that. I think that they couldn't be bothered to make a seperate texture for it and left it like that.

Oh,i thought it was wrong only on my machine.

because of this ,i can't read labels and only can check the numbers of the points by cycle them in the menu.then memory them by brain in order to creat the paths.it's a little boring, but still a usefull tool. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Great job. I could previously only in GMViewer. I will try it immediately, as soon as I come from work.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bow" border="0" alt="bow.gif" />

Anyone can provide guidelines how to install it as starting ship? I look from the port, i see a grey ship. I go out to sea, i am below water. I press 1,2 game crash.

Go to Subfolder
\\Playlogic\Age of Pirates 2\Program\characters
<b></b>
Open "RPGUtilite.c"

Search row (nearly the end)

DeleteAttribute(pchar, "Ship");
pchar.Ship.Type = GenerateShip((<u>SHIP_LUGGER</u> + rand(2) - 1), 0);
SetBaseShipData(pchar);
pchar.Ship.Name = xiDStr("StartShip");

set

pchar.Ship.Type = GenerateShip((<u>SHIP_"Set Name of StartShip</u>"), 0);
SetBaseShipData(pchar);
pchar.Ship.Name = xiDStr("StartShip");

Now you can start a new game satren with the ship of your choice.
