Surprise!!!!!

Truely beautiful! I can not wait to get that ship in game! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

This'll go so great with the new M&C music pack.

You know what'd be neat? `Re-designing` the clothes on the visible crew to be more Royal Navy... but then they'd have to be limited to your ships alone, so no French or Spanish is crewed with them as well.

here is the lite version.for folks with weaker systems and its just as good as the full version.I kinda like it better myself. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/Inzane1/liteversion.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

They look great Inzane <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

How did you get the flags to be so big? I think they look much better than the default flags, any chance of maybe a flag mod in the future? <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

<!--`QuoteBegin-Cap`'n Archibald McNil+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Cap'n Archibald McNil)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->And one other thing, was there really that big a gap between fore and aftt like that?  I thought there was a railing.  Correct me if I am wrong...

Thankie!

:bbb
it was on the draught drawings.and its used to slide the launch boats off.and it looks like she had some big one

That ship roxx.... how high are the polygn count on the high detail one??

i started making an 8 gun danish coast defence schooner at some point, but dont really have the time to work on it anymore... is it something that you might wanna work with??.... the blueprints and a picture of an original presentation model

That gap is correct, as Inzane said it was used to store the ship's boats. (I provided the Admiralty draughts for her and many other ships that hopefully/possibly we'll see <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" /> ) Some 28's didn't have the gap, so I guess its a matter of which ship you're looking at. This is probably one of the most accurate frigate models you're gonna find around...top notch! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

The netting was used as crew protection. When the hands weren't below sleeping, their hammocks would be packed in these nettings to give them some protection should an action arise. In a sense, the gap was there, but the hammocks took it away. Also, you have to remembed that the ship in the movie was the HMS Rose, modeled after a much older type of frigate, and had to have some drastic modifications to make her look more like the Surprise.

*Edit- Also, you have to remember that almost all frigates were different...the actual Surprise was a captured French vessel, the L'Unite (if I recall correctly?), and most other of the finest frigates were either Spanish or French in origins. That being said, the appearance of frigates would most certainly vary, and I think neither of us are wrong in saying which ones had that gap amidships or not.

Sorry for the commentary... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" /> More Eye Candy

She is really coming together now.

She looks pretty big to me, not that ingame she´ll look bigger than a Man of War <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
But she´s a real beauty, just like your 74 gun vessel. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

Tis a beautiful ship alright, hope it comes off well in the game. BTW, is there a limit to the number of guns you can have on a ship in the game?

<!--`QuoteBegin-Sofus`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Sofus)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->inzane.... can you actually walk down to the lower decks??
sorry to say not at this time, maybe in a patch down the road.this ship is going to be a work in progress even when it is released.

<!--`QuoteBegin-paveyj`+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(paveyj)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Tis a beautiful ship alright, hope it comes off well in the game. BTW, is there a limit to the number of guns you can have on a ship in the game?
not that I know of yet.So far I can say I got 82, I would imagine you could get 128.the only limits are the models themselves the more gun you add the less detail the ship has <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />,thats why I will be working on smaller ships.
