hey, just noticed something....the Hatcher look-alike crew member is walking on the visible deck...does that mean that the walk file's been improved? or better yet, fixed?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you are referring to the guy next to the mizzenmast, then, yeah, like I said, for some reason crewmen suddenly started using all available walk points - previously they refused to use them all. I have <b>no</b> idea what is the reason for that change, but, I'm happy they "changed" their mind <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I might even add some additional walk points <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

i have asuspicion that that won't work nelson. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" /> oh: VCO is going to have a replica of the victory in it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> thought you wanted to know. and do you still need that davy jones soundtrack for the game? i was unable to put it on the FTP server previously, but it think i can now. i'll have to get a new audio conversion program, but those are fairly easy to find. if you still want it, i'll make sure it goes on the FTP server. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

VCO? what's that? [sorry..i'm not missing my afternoon nap...i need it]

oh...yes please. i found it on the FTP, but it's not loud enough. could you raise the volume to something like double what it is now? TIA

VCO is voyage century online. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i think my file would be just as soft. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> with every music file i convert, even at max. volume, it's still softer than the original. not as soft that you have to keep adjusting the sound level, but still soft. the davy jones soundtrack is originally softer than the rest, so that one would be even softer. but i'll see what i can do. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

He means Voyage Century Online.

And, yes.... it <b>does</b> have a replica of <i>HMS Victory</i> in it. I just checked. What's more, it's the only hi-poly ship model in the entire game... Meaning, we can convert it with no problem and it will look good.

that would save A LOT of work! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/w00t.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":woot" border="0" alt="w00t.gif" />

WAIT, is this ingame in VCO? Or did you convert it? I think that the VCO skins suck big time <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

are those cannon models? because i looked at the ships in gm viewer, and the cannons where only painted on it.

the sails definatly need changing to the ones in PotC. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> oh, and i goofed up a little. i meant that the pirate simulator beta has the HMS victory in it. at least, i think it does.

the file should be on the FTP server now. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

This is login screen, which incorporates this particular model. Instead of <i>ship/2011012</i>, try looking in the <i>ship/login</i> subdirectory - this is where this particular model comes from.

It actually should be really easy to import the VCO ships into PotC. Way back when VCO first came out, I experimented with putting its ships in-game, and everything came out correctly instead of the masts. It was kind of intimidating seeing a mastless Victory-esque MoW bearing down on you, firing full broadsides! But if you can figure out how to get the masts on, or get new masts on (which I'm sure Kazeite or any other of the experienced modders can do no problem), then it should be easy! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

wow...i think this needs to be looked at...replace the masts, add cannon models, change the skins to a richer colour [for the proper ore yellow...which looks quite close to orange], and we have HMS Victory!
only thing i see as a problem here is the hight on the water...it needs to be further down into the water. the waterline needs to be higher on the side of the ship...

as for Davy Jones, i suggest you use the Windows Sound Recorder, which comes stock with windows, and can be found in Start [menu on the desktop. bottom left corner. im sure you know it]/ All Programs/ Accessories/ Entertainment/ Sound Recorder. you can convert the song into Wav [or start it out like that], bump the volume up by 200% then convert to .OGG format, making a backup of the current one in .WAV format, in case the song that's been converted is too loud, so that you wont damage the quality by reconverting it and converting it again. then it's just a little trial until you get it loud enough...

thanks for deciding to do it. i really appreciate it.

TIA

you could make it louder yourself. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> anyway, i put the WAV file in there so you could compare them to see if it really as a difference. is it a big difference?

i think it needs the volume doubled. try the Sound Recorder i mentioned....it's cool for messing with sound files....it's only downside is that it only works with .WAV format sound files...
alternatively, you could suggest a very good, very easy-to-use sound file converter that has .WAV, .OGG and .MP3 as conversion options. then i could do it. i've never used a sound converter that i could understand and use [though i've only used 2, both deleted soon after downloading], so it would be best if you could do it. all i think it needs is to have the volume doubled, so instead of 100%, make it 200%. it's possible with the Sound Recorder.

i'll give it a shot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

oh, sorry, just noticed. apparantly i removed the entertainment stuff in my quest for hrd-drive space to download build 13. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> maybe you can tune up the volume of that WAV file i put into that file, put it on the FTP server, and i'll convert it for you. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Has Captn Drow been able to find out any more about Maya and how to work the collision detection? I would absolutely love to have this ship as a fully functioning model.

@ Morgan Terror: there isnt a .WAV file. only .MP3 and .OGG

would you mind deleting the other 2, and replacing them with one that is definately WAV?

sorry for all the hassle...
TIA

oh sorry, i was confused. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" /> i meant MP3, not WAV. you do not actually need the MP3 file, i just put it in.

here's the idea: (if you don't want to keep the original storm music)

give the OGG file the EXACT name as the original storm music, and replace it. it should work fine. however, as you said that the volume is to low, tune up the volume on the MP3 file i sent you, and put it back on the FTP server. i'll download, convert it and put it back up on the FTP server. you do not need the OGG file you currently have. as a matter of fact, it would be best to remove it. if you want to play the davy jones soundtrack but keep the original as well, tell me and i'll give you new instructions.

To Morgan Terror and Lord Nelson: Could you please make a new thread for your discussion on the volume of those tracks? Or do it through PMs? This discussion doesn't really have anything to do with the subject of this thread.
