The Flying Dutchman

ehh guy i got a problem i know we have made a flying dutchman but look here. i saved the a new dutchman in VRML and after, i saved the vrml in gm...but the game crash when i ar in sea( not high seas) and what did i do wrong?????
btw here take a look plz say to me if u like it :p

and im workin on the Endeavour with the cannons and that

hey, if the door's gone, shouldn't the mast be gone too in that case? apart from that, the dutchman's starting to look better and better. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> the only thing i have to comment on the stern is that the top looks a bit too boxy, and the cabin walls and the decks are just a bit too light. but as i said, it's certainly improving. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
 
i think everything is great just one question i thought that the dutchman was completly greenish in color and didn't have any tan or brown like you show in th photos. Cause the brown in the front near where the triple guns go stands out to much.

secondly i wsa just wondering for the model in general if it was possible to faces things around the cannon ports and if you could put the cannon flap/covers below the triiple guns so it looks accurate. In additon i was wondering if anyones been working on a camo/ barnical covering for the davy jones version.

anyways, just a suggestion, other than that excellent job keep up the good work!

If not, your actions would have removed all locators from the model, which might explain a crash. Open the original GM file, save the locators to a file, then open your new file and load the locators from that file. Then save. Hopefully that works.

How did you do that with the Dutchman's stern? Did you modify her in a 3D modeling program? One thing you should know about that: If you do this, the lighting on the model will be reversed same as with Kazeite's Black Pearl model in the game. This apparently happens because of an error somewhere in the Tool.

Also: You need to add collision detection from the original model as well. The Tool will ask you from which GM file to use the collision detection when you import a VRML file.

That depends whether shot was fired directly along centerline <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> (and the movie shot wasn't - it merely nicked mizzen mast a little)

hey , i got a question , does anyone elses game crash after you download the films ship of the ftp? I have the files in the correct folder and hte game starts up correctly but when i go to start a new game using one of the ships it crashes. I put the ships in like i'm supposed to and everything.

i've narrowed my problem down abit. i put a different ships_init.c file in and the game works fine (menus the fact that it doesn't have the new ships from the download) but when i put the one that came with the download in it crashes, and wants to send an error report.

if someone could asist me it would be greatly appreciated.

I think that model came from the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End game. It was "captured" using a 3D capturing tool, if I remember correctly. But I don't think we can use it our game. First of all the model is not compatible and there is all sorts of copyright issues.

I think I know what's the matter: The mod was made for Build 14 Alpha 6. If you use any other game version, installing it directly won't work. What game version are you using? To get it to work, find the ships_init.c entries for the new ships and add them manually into your own ships_init.c file. You can do this with Notepad.
 
i have 14.7 and i also have razors latest versions of the dutchman and pearl (or at least i did, i think they were overwritten when i copied the films ship into their respective folders.) Anyways i'm up to date on everything (maybe too up to date).

And another question, for the davy jones model in the bartholomew folder where can i get the script thing for the modelinit.c folder in the program directory
