The Flying Dutchman

Today I compiled together a Film Ships mod. Included are all versions of the Black Pearl and Flying Dutchman. This file should be readily compatible with Build 14 Alpha 6, but can also be made to work with Alpha 7, although this requires some modifications to the code. Also included are some slight fixes to the ships_init.c file which should enable the Superior Warship and Spiegelretourschip to become available at sea and from shipyards. Additionally some cannon calibres on ships have been modified and the Satanist Frigate now has red sails by default.

<b>CursedPearl:</b> Kazeite's Black Pearl with black torn sails.
<b>theBlackPearl:</b> Kazeite's Black Pearl with patched black sails.
<b>CursedDutchman:</b> The Russian Flying Dutchman as seen under the command of captain Davy Jones. Modified green ship texture with modified lamp texture by Razor, green seaweedy sail texture by Kazeite. Rigging and tripple guns added by Razor.
<b>FlyingDutchman:</b> The Russian Flying Dutchman as seen under the command of captain Will Turner. Original brown ship texture with Thomas the Terror's lamps and sails. Rigging and tripple guns added by Razor.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

What game version do you have? The models go to RESOURCE\MODELS\Ships, the textures go to RESOURCE\Textures\Ships. If you have Build 14 Alpha 6, this can be readily installed on top. If not, you'll need to add the PROGRAM\SHIPS\ships_init.c and RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH\common.ini entries yourself to prevent messing up the game. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
Can someone explain me, how I can use the Film Ship Mod in the unpatched Game (POC withour Build Mod)?
I don`t use the Build mod because i wanted the game in German. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Sorry for my english....
 
I don't know how to use the mod without the Build. That's going to be quite complicated. I really recommend you do get the Build. It'll be English, but the gameplay is SO much better than the original game! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
I have load the FilmShips_b13.rar folder, from the ftp and installed it.
But where can i buy the new ships? No Shipyard ist sell them.

I use the Build13 Mod.
 
You can't buy nor encounter them because they're all set to CanBuy = false and CanEncounter = false in PROGRAM\SHIPS\ships_init.c. Set these to true, reinit your savegame (press F11 after loading it) and you can buy/encounter them. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
