I e-mailed this lady by the name Mary Lukes from the "Thread Bare Stitchery". Nice place, good prices, quality isn't that bad. It was there that I bought an un-dress tailcoat matching the regulations of the United States Navy, c. 1813. It cost me $167.00 for wool with cotton lining, no fancy lace. Just a simple low-key uniform.
I also contacted Three Horse Hill, a hat making company. I bought a plain black fore n' aft style bicorn with a simple wartime cockade. It was $60.00.
My waistcoat is an actual anitique that belonged to my great-great grandfather, Franklin Siberling. (He owned the Siberling Tire Co. up until the Great Depression, then his company was sold to a man named Goodyear.)
My shirt, pants, shoes are your average dress up like garb that can be found at any suit store, I just made sure that the patterns were old and the material not so 21st century.
I am presently in the process of making my own pair of epaulets. Navy wool topped with gold bullion ribbon and gold cordage as the fringe off the end.
Lo and behold, the Un-dress uniform of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry is nearly finished! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

I've got this "Character Day" in the next couple of weeks at my high school, where everyone comes dressed up in costumes. Harry Potter reinged for several years, and I'm leading the movement to vanquish the wizards and witches with my band of fellow sailors and allied pirates. (One of which is none other than Captain Sparrow!)
Pirates of the Caribbean will rule Character Day for years to come!
