Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

Opening Post Updated: New Fix Pack Posted

Also a new installer EXE file.
New game required this time, because the removal of the mouse double-clicking functionality causes a crash on savegames.
And it probably doesn't hurt to check that things work properly from the start either. :wp

With the exception of some new content I am still hoping for over the next day, this will be the release version of Beta 3.
Now is the time for final comments. Public release will be on Sunday.

New stuff:
- Town capture boarding locators updated by Talisman
- Item trade bug fixed
- Various text updates in item descriptions and dialogs to clarify game functionality
- Couple of texture changes to fix display errors and unnecessary system.log entries
 
Ahoy mates, First post just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm loving this mod you are doing great things your on my christmass card list this year :p

Now I read that your going to take some time away from the mod for awhile, But I had some thoughts on salvage and realism
To make it short when your man spots salvage and you choose to pick it up, instead of running over it you have to pull along side and a pop up appears with something like

"Captain it appears to be ebony estimated 123 cwt we have room for 88 cwt and it will take 3 hrs to load.
Do you want us to load the cargo Captain ?"
[Yes] [No]

Yes would load the goods and advance the clock 3 hrs.

And for hulks
"Captain it will take about an hour to search the wreak.
Do you want us to proceed Captain ?"
[Yes] [No]

But if it's an ammo tender then you would get anther one like the cargo one with amount and estimated time to transfer it.

And lastly boats I figure 1 min per man on the boat.

I have no idea if it can be done or even if your willing to add more, But there you have it comments welcome

on a side note I am able to save even though I have the cross from the monk

Peter is there a version without that mouse fix so i can continue the save game cos it was quite good and don't want to start again but have some of the fixes and new stuff.Can u send me that or advice??
 
I cant post a save because it crashes at the start of the hawk story line if I choose the stormy start it shows the movie and then goes to black screen and crashes

Ok got it to work. It was because I had changed my ship type, It only works if I take the heavy lugger. o_O

Is that how you made it ?
 
When that mod was made there was no choice as to what ship to sail. The heavy lugger is the default ship.

Took this latest version for a spin. There was a little GA around Cuba but no where else, and I did a lot of direct sailing.

At both Havana and Santiago the outer forts have no flag but the inner forts do.
 
Damn, I've started the stormy start three times now and every time my ship is completely destroyed, not damaged but gone and all I got is one of those dingy things :(
 
Does this have any purpose or is there to cast a shadow on the waterfall ?

I am pretty sure if moved to one side of the waterfall would have double effect - ....it will be there.... and the waterfall will be seen. :D

You could just skip on this update for now. None of the changes are crucial.

Uhm.... NO! Definitely NOT! Stormy Start should work fine regardless of starting ship.
Do you have any log files from that crash? Or what ship did you select to start with? I'd like to see if I can replicate that problem.

Are you playing on "Iron Man Mode"? If so, you'd be getting the EVIL Stormy Start instead.
There you start out with as near to nothing as possible for an extra challenge.

That had me quite confused myself. But when I looked into the issue, it turned out that forts only ever have one flag, not two.
That second flag pole doesn't even have any flag locators at all.

I think it is there just to make the location different from the waterfall outside Kralendijk.
It is also used during the Bartolomeu storyline at some point.
 
I only play ironman, and the ship was a hoy then I tried the light pinnance (might have spelled that wrong :p)
Fair enough evil storm and all but I have -40 leather in the hold so I cant sell it

You're right, it DOES crash. I managed to fix that now by using GiveShip2Character in the code instead of the manual override that was there before.
Shouldn't happen in the next version. :no
 
Logs should be in your main game folder. Anyway, no need now. Problem solved.
Extract attached to PROGRAM\Storyline\standard\quests . Now start a new game and it should work without issues.

Yep start with a hoy which was lost in the storm again, But I have a plan the French want the whole island they seem hell bent on taking Bridgetown I've seen three surrender and 2 sunk reports so I'm going to take the tub and seize one of those surrendered ships :p
