Sea Dogs : To Each His Own!

When I first saw that video, I thought it was a simple rerelease of Pirates of the Caribbean, but when I discovered the musket and other new features, I got curious. Hopefully, it will appear on GOG as I boycott Steam as far as possible.

Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord update

Impressive! Now imagine mods like "Sword of Damocles" or "The Last Days of the Third Era of Middle Earth" using the capabilities of this engine.

Pirate related point and click adventure games?

Monkey Island 1 and 2 got remakes with the option to switch between original pixel-art and modern graphics.

Rather a Different kind of ship

Fire at will, boarding, autopilot... Reminds me of the X series. Can it compete with the complexity of X3 Albion Prelude?

Active Promotion and Recruiting on Other Sites

You should also target twcenter.net, the definite site for Total War games and modding. People appreciating Empire and Napoleon should also be interested in Hearts of Oak. Some people have already discovered HoO: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?661065-Hearts-of-Oak-Conquest-of-the-Seas

Hearts of Oak News: Important Announcement

No wonder Unity is becoming more and more popular seeing that is is such an impressive engine. You should be able to collect the money for several licenses (1.500$ per license) with a kickstarter or indiegogo campaign. People seem to be quite generous...

Viva El Presidente! Tropico 5 Released for PC Today!

Tropico 4 with Modern Times is way more enjoyable than the fifth part.

Viva El Presidente! Tropico 5 Released for PC Today!

In my oppinion, this game is mediocre at best: - many important buildings from Tropico 4 are missing (all the tourist entertainment buildings, solar power plant, wind power plant, firewatch, parliament, ministries, elementary school, prison(!), prison camp etc.) - game is even more simplified...

    Hearts of Oak News Update

What a nice trailer! I can't wait to play a realistic sailing game. The move to Ogre3D would probably be the best course of actions, as open source projects can be tailored to the user's needs.

    Grand Theft Auto 5

The game has been released and the reviews have been very positive (which doesn't have to mean much as "Total War Rome II" has shown). There are drawbacks like stutter and few people when driving, but that's the drawback with these outdated consoles. Let's wait and see how the PC version will...

    Star Wars: Empire at War

The best mod is, hands down, Awakening of the Rebellion.

    American Conquest

I remember this game and especially the soundtrack. Too bad the gameplay was slow (resource gathering is a pain in this game) and the units hiding in buildings very extremely unfair. However, you could learn something about the history of the American continent and storming the Natives with...

    Mount & Blade

One of my favorite mods is "Sword of Damocles: Warlords". It offers new factions with interesting units. The map was changed to a very big island and you can build proper village, castle and town buildings. There is also a population and a religion system which influences many aspects of the game.

Yes and No, Total War: Rome II Announced for 2013

It is as I have feared. Rome II is arcadish crap for casual gamers. While it may look nice and the engine has some interesting possibilities, the result is bad. The campaign is lacking and simplicistic compared to Paradox games, not to mention the fact that several DLCs will fill the neglected...
