same shit , the setup wont reconize the archive unless its unzipped ?
nothing hapeaned , this is hopless
It just occurred to me that you are not running that "b14_beta3_installer_internal.exe" file that is in the same folder as the 7-Zip archive.
I do not know which file you are running or where you are running it from. But it isn't the one you show on your screenshots.
x i think that might help
then you need to update the installer in moddb website cos its the one with bugs
It should be a simple matter of double-clicking on the EXE file that is in the same folder as the 7-Zip file, then follow the wizard.
As Grey Roger said, you do not need the Beta 3.2 installer for anything. All required files are already included in the Beta 3.3 WIP one.
So you need only two files in total.
Why do you think the Beta 3.3 installer is called "internal" and "WIP" (=short for "Work In Progress")?
Because we're working on FIXING it, of course! And while it is better than Beta 3.2, it still isn't as good as we want it.
Actually, the Beta 3.2 one on ModDB works just fine. It only becomes troublesome when you try to do any trading.
Everything else works.
well i tried the new installer now its asking for a new name for the b14 now it ends with ".potc" and its not gonna work .......
At least you have the right installer now. While it does ask for .potc, it will also accept the .7z file.
If it doesn't, you can rename it manually to the filename it asks for. Though that should not be necessary.
Just read this mess.
I then installed a new clean stock POTC.
Then installed the mod to it using the latest Beta 3.3 WIP and the Build 14-Beta3-Full.7z. The only option I chose was the wide screen one.
Then played a little Brave Black Flag.
It works for me! How are you doing?
hi. i've been playing the game ever since build 1 and I am really amazed how it did developed through the years. i left the game on build 12 and would like to experience the much improved game. however, i have difficulty downloading the part2 of the latest build in the FAQ. there must be other link that can complete my files. will appreciate much if anybody can provide.
was using alvin1218 in the old forum and it seems all are unfamiliar now except, i saw the name of pieter boelen
Ahoy matey! Welcome back then.
If you go to the ModDB download page, there are several mirror links you can try for the large archive.
The last version you played was Build 12? You'll be in for a surprise!
thx, mate. starting to DL. very excited to play the game, again.
i wonder if part of the "POTC at the world's end" (2007 release) has been incorporated in this mod
The Davy Jones character model was based on that game.
And we have the Chinese junk Empress as well.
that is wonderful to note.
i have an error when installing the mod, it says " Build Info.txt not found. Make sure you install the Build 14 Beta 3 Main files first." i already downloaded the 2 parts of the mod 14 beta 3.2
did i miss something here?
Did you check to install the main files also in the installer?
Did you put both files in the same folder (part 1 and 2)?
Did you select the root folder of potc? (Where engine.exe is located)
That warning occurs when the large main archive is not installed in the target folder before it tries to install the update files.
here is the "my exact installation procedure":
1. installed the clean game on C:\POTC
2. saved the mod in D:\Games\POTC
3. double click the part1 mod (it ran actually)
4. error pops up after 70-80% of installation.
Best thing to do is to check if "Build Info.txt" actually IS in your destination folder (C:\POTC, is it?).
This file is part of the 7-Zip content archive, so should be installed prior to the error message.
Are you sure you have enough HD space on both your C and D drives?
The mod files are first extracted in the folder with the installer in it (eg. D:\Games\POTC) before being moved to their destination.
still have 732G and 1T free space for drive C & D respectively. what am thinking, is if i downloaded all the mod files completely (my internet connection is not stable). am trying to redownload all files and lets see the result later.
just check on the "Build Info.txt" file and is not present on my newly installed clean potc game. although, i tried playing the game and it initialized and loaded successfully, of course it crashes afterwards.
my question is, should i extract first the buildinfo file from mod pt2 or is there another link where to obtain it?
Separate names with a comma.
