i tried this but no one of my officers i speak to have this text... i just hired a new in a tavern and as i said i have enough money and planks

maybe a bug?

Build 13 <i>Final</i>. Build 13 Full doesn't have that feature (it was temporarily turned off because there were some bugs that were fixed in Build 13 Final).
Solution: Install Build 13 Update 3, download link in my signature. New game required.

<strike>I can't remember how to get those buildings that you walkthrough, (you know buy them so i can place them)</strike> Also I noticed I can own land, just curious as to how, and finally what exactly is a letter of marque that you can get from the governor?

If there is another faq or tip guide that has all this stuff answered just send me a link, otherwise i would appreciate any kind answers.

By the way you guys made this game awesome, I always loved the game but you guys made the gameplay near perfect. If only those buildings were static, i think the game would be perfect.

A Letter of Marque is a letter from a governor that legalizes your actions as a pirate. You may sink ships enemy to the nation you are serving and you promise to not sink any ships of the nation you are serving. You become a privateer rather than a pirate then. If you are succesful, the governor will promote you and you are awarded land. This land cannot actually be visited, but it yields you some personal wealth every day.

I'm afraid we can't do much about those buildings. As I like to say, it's either a weird BuildingSet or no BuildingSet.
Hoever, we do have a large amount of goodness in the works for Build 14. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
hey all,

I recently downloaded build 13 and potc went from a good game to a great game. Everything's working well except for the 'choose your sails' interface that's suppose to appear at any shipyard. I ask to use their services and am only given the option of repairing my ship or installing new guns. How would I enable this missing dialog, and if it's not possible, can i change my sail color manually? I'd like to change my sails red.

The interface isn't at the shipyard (anymore). Pres F2, go to "Ship", then click the "Sails" icon and there appears a button at the bottom of the screen "Select Sails".

Hey guys I have a quick question

I'm playing the stock game and I reckon its time to install some mods. If I just install build 13 final, do I have to install the mods that came before build 13 final as well? *such as build 12).

This whole thread ended wierd!? Anyways! How do I get on the FTP I here there's extra dev files there?; models etc.
 
I have added you to the "Modders" usergroup, which gives you access to the POTC Modding subforum.
You can find the information you need in the "FTP, Akella Modding Tools and Help Files" sticky.
You might want to check the other stickies too.
 
I can't attack forts beacuse the cannons won't fire high enough! I can't change the settings without starting again. Tis real annoying. Probably nothing I can do about it though....
 
Have you tried from a greater distance? If that doesn't work, maybe you need heavier cannons?
