Flying dutchman light things

Check <a href="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11097&hl=" target="_blank">this</a> thread.

Please be warned!

That thread only shows that rotating ship locators in tool can be done.

Tool has the nasty habit of ditching half the code in the ship model in the process.

This gives you incredible numbers of errors and the Beeping sound when loading the ship in game.

Does that happen very frequently, Petros? SeaNorris seems to have managed it on that particular ship he was working on. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Did he? I thought he said he had that problem as well.

I don't remember him saying that he fixed it, or if he did, how he did.

I quote from that thread:<!--quoteo(post=219723:date=Nov 1 2007, 12:24 PM:name=SeaNorris.)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(SeaNorris. @ Nov 1 2007, 12:24 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I finally figured it out now, the values to change are YZ & ZY, I set YZ to -0.15 and YZ to 0.15 it then angled the mast back slightly.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->The beeping occurred on modifying the Amsterdam, but that was not related to the rotating of the locator. And when I got that same problem, it "was" in relation to rotating locators in <b>Tool</b>!

You will see that neither SN, nor KK, nor I have been able to prevent/correct this.
Kevin Atlanta managed to get an Amsterdam model that doesn't beep, and even he doesn't know how or why.

So, what I'm saying is that while pointing Captain Patrick in the direction of major editing of a large ship model in Tool, we should warn him of the very possible "missing data/ Beeping" error.

He should do minor corrections, save frequently, and constantly check the model for proper file size along the way.

This way he could avoid doing so much work, and finding out later, that it was all for nothing.

<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" /> the skeleton on the dutchman looks weird and if i want to put it right on it, there will be strange beeping and errors. so i stop with it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

There might be beeping.

Or are you saying that you already tried rotating locators in Tool and now your model does beeps in game?

<!--quoteo(post=222502:date=Nov 20 2007, 11:26 PM:name=Petros)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Petros @ Nov 20 2007, 11:26 PM) </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->And when I got that same problem, it "was" in relation to rotating locators in <b>Tool</b>!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I believe you. Don't you worry. I was just trying to say that apparently SeaNorris did manage to rotate at least one locator without getting the beeping problem. Which to me suggests that it could be done. But I don't know how frequently you would or wouldn't get the beeping problem. It indeed IS a good idea to be careful with it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I wonder if the beeping was caused by the actual rotating of the locator or by some other cause. For example: I got the beeping when I removed a locator from an AoP ship. On the Amsterdam, SeaNorris wasn't rotating locators either. I wonder if there are simply some models of which you cannot modify the locators without the beeping problem being triggered. And, if so, what is different between these models and the ones that CAN be modified without that happening? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/modding.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":modding" border="0" alt="modding.gif" />

i didnt have beeping but when i rotate the locator the skeleton disappear, i think i do something wrong. i will work on it later i finish of the dutch battleship first.

YES! Dutch Battleship is MUCH more important! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/danse1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":dance" border="0" alt="danse1.gif" />

methinks pieter's SLIGHTLY patriotic about the past. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />

ME thinks, we need more dutch ships too! 3 are too little <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

that's a good point of view. when we divide the ship types among the nations, we indeed need more ships for some of them.

I just really like Dutch ships with green sterns. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

what is it with you and green sterns? paint the back of your car green or something! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

<i>Cars don't have sterns</i>, you evil little TWIT! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />
And I don't have a car. And neither do my parents.

No? Little bit strange. Nevermind

MORE DUTCH SHIPS

or you could build a stern on it <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

cars have got a rear half though. imagine a car with a wooden gallery? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile2.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":))" border="0" alt="smile2.gif" />
