Solved Period Weapons

Crewmembers didn't use ammo at all in the old ammo mod - maybe that's changed? I saw it as an advantage NOT to have to supply them too...
 
Not so good for my quest, it's really important to be able to carry more than 4 guns. (Like the main idea of the quest :shock: )
Maybe there could be some fix for a special situation?
...or is it possible to change internalsettings.c via code (I mean can I do that exception in the quest?) :huh
Maybe an exception can be added for a specific quest. But, Pirate_kk is making the mod not me... So, only him can answer your question. :?
 
Ok I stay calm, in the worst case you have to change in internalsettings before playing this quest. :shoot: :shoot: :shoot: :shoot: :shoot: :shoot:
 
Hey, I'm currently working on this and was just wondering if someone can help me?

Can anybody tell me what the weapons mod does in the initItems.c file? I can get weapons to appear in their respective periods by using InitStdBlade table, but when I incorperate the InitBlade table, which I believe is something to do with the weapons mod, all items disappear from the game.

If I know what this mod actually does it would be a great help. Cheers.
 
Don't worry guys, I've actually got this working, all the correct weapons are now appearing in the correct periods :will

Bartolomeu, I'm just going to need you help matching up the new weapons with their correct picIndex and picTexture. After that we are ready to roll with this mod I think :doff

I'm still waiting for the Sim's work so you will need to wait a bit before being released..
 
Hi guys, sorry I've been quiet on this lately.

Unfortunatly a paying project came up that I promised a while ago, which mean's I'm staying away from home until the beginning of next week. (I've borrowed someone's internet connection for this xD: )

Not having any of the files with me, I've been unable to do any more work or even testing on this.

Ahem, not quite. I've got the original weapons working in their correct periods. The new weapons still require Bartolomeu to match up the picIndex and picTexture files in the extra weapons tables I have created in the initItems.c file.

Not really, I just copied your code from the periods file and then just tweaked it until it worked. As I have said before, when it comes to coding, I'm just a have a go hero :facepalm

Just a comment : To avoid a CTD I've had to increase a number from 700 to 800 in items.c

Check with Winmerge my files seeing I'm still using an old BuildMod (Patch3, in fact. But, I'll install Patch 6 these next days.)

It doesn’t include the quest’s blades. All the axes and knives are present in every period.
It would be great if anyone could separate the weapons in the different periods. The only problem would be the town soldiers using the saber. But, at the beginning, we could let the saber in all the periods.

What comes to weapons i would love to see few new pistols- duck's foot pistols are needed- with 4, 6 or 8 barrels- then old wheellocks for early periods and matchlock muskets....... also some 4-barreled pistol that doesn't look like 19th century pepper-box would be nice.......
 
Bartolomeu sent me some new weapons for the next modpack release. I reckon that with those added, we'll definitely have enough weapons.
I never did see the point of having a gazillion different weapons. The way I figure it, it adds a little more variety at the expense of being a lot more stuff for the player to scroll through.
