maybe the corvette should be renamed to frigate... since it in reality is more of a frigate then a corvette??
 
I think the corvette should be replaced entirely with this model, even though in reality it's meant to replace the horrid frigate model that PotC came with. I've often thought of `over-writing` both frigate and corvette models with her!
 
well... i dont think that either the frigate or the corvette are too bad in the game... im not very keen on the schooner tho'.... 20 guns for a schooner just seems way too much!!!
 
A question for inzane... how do you make the ropes??... is it just cylinders that you made very thin?? or??

One being ropeb1 and the other ropee1 and line it up from where the rope starts and where it ends. every other rope added would go up in number ropeb2 ropee2,ropeb3 ropee3,etc etc so there is no modeling needed.and the same thing goes for ratlines and sails you dont have to model these. just make the hull,masts,guns etc.
 
I think most of the ships in the game are based on Russian ships. I'm not sure why Russian ships were used for a caribbean.....but then again Akella is a Russian company.

Also I would like to see this as a completly different ship and not have any of the current ships replaced.

Inzane... i got another question for you... how can i get the ship into the game??... what do i have to do... now i startet adding all the locators for the ropes, but i guess that other locators should be made as well... like locators for muscle fire and so on??.... do you have MSN or ICQ??... maybe you can assist me a little
 
I will post,a simple faq on how to get a ship in game some time today.Have to go shovel out,We got pounded by more smow again.<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />.
but here are a few pointers to get you started.
but these things will be needed when you get your model ready to convert to gm
1. the model has to be uv textured!!!the gm plugin will not convert the mesh unless it has a texture applyed.
2.Cut the top deck off flip its normals so you cant see it.but get ride of the rest of the model this is the quick and easy way to make the path file model.I made mine from scratch, this also has to be textured.save it as path.Dont overwrite the Ship mesh!!!!this will become the path gm after we add the locators.

and what do you mean by top deck??.. do you just mean the deck of the ship??
 
ship mesh = the model
path file = path.gm this is the file that allows you to walk on the deck
top deck??.. do you just mean the deck of the ship?? Yes

you should explore the ship model file dir.to become aware of what files are needed to make it run in game.you also should download ModelView.this allows you to view the models.And will give you a basic idea about locators.than what I say will make a bit more sence to you

And more importantly...the Ship o' the Line lol. I am so eager for it. Right now I dont have PotC installed due to some bugs reguarding the SWAK and story start mods. Good luck and cant wait fer me new ship...
