In that case, it must still be set to "77". That is the default.
Don't worry about it.
I have 3 beta 3 installs. One dead, the current one, and an untouched archive. They all show this:
numoftips = 77 ; 0 = Disable Loading Screen Tips
Yup; that's what it should be.
Dafuq? Now I WinMerged all my code again and DO still see the loading screen tips.
Except the code is the same as it was before! When I didn't see them anymore!!!
No wonder I was all confused here.
More chanting and incantations needed!
