I never actually did get to that place, but I knew it was supposed to exist. How is it possible that you knew the place, but never get there? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/8q.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":8q" border="0" alt="8q.gif" />

Ow, okay.. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/buds.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":drunk" border="0" alt="buds.gif" />

Are these treasure quests those given to you by random people in exchange for money in the build mod? You know they say 'Hey, today is your lucky day' or words to that effect, then you pay them, but you dont get much information...

Those are the quests, yes. You should get a questbook update once you paid them, which should give you enough information to find them.

Aaaaaaaah! I thought you had to keep buying information so it would add up lol <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

You CAN'T, can you? When you already have a treasure quest, you shouldn't be able to buy another one until you finished the first.
Reason being, the second treasure quest would overwrite the first and you'd thus lose the chance for your treasure. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I can't pick it up! I get the treasure icon but it disapears so fast that I can't press enter in time to pick it up! I tried this several times but it never works, help plz.

I noticed that too; it's some sort of bug and nobody knows why that happens.
You CAN open the chest still. If you're quick enough. Requires a bit of trial-and-error. :modding
Please post it on the Bug Tracker. :doff

i do it like this:
I walk there and i see where is it and then i put my finger on the "F3" button, and walk ahead, and then just press the F3 button and then opens.
BUT there is nothing inside!
:modding :modding :modding :will :facepalm

There should be something inside at least sometimes.
Depends on your luck. :shrug

Anyway, somebody please post this on the Bug Tracker and we'll try to fix it eventually. :doff

I have read this thread and saw some references to aztec coins early on. Well, I recently acquired a pile of aztec coins. I'm pretty sure I want to get rid of them, but don't know how. Can someone sell me a clue? :shrug

That's a fact. That IS a fact. About 6-8 points worth. :764: Hmm. I wonder if Father Domingues wants them? :nerbz

I have tried many treasure quests but only very rarely find any treasure in them 1 in 5 or more. This seems to be too rare to be worth trying for at all. the idea should be that even early in the game if you want to take the risk in going on one of these - there should be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow sufficent to say buy a new ship or similar. these quests may seem a bit worthless if you play with cheats on - but if you don't - then they are a worthwhile option for quick advancement.

Yeah, it really is hit or miss. But since most of them involve combat one can get a lot of loot from corpses. There is most always some profit to be made with them. Plus it toughens up your officers quickly. :ixi what ticks me off is buying a quest only to find there is no combat or treasure. :j3 On the other hand, I recently hit two in a row, so I'm rolling in dough. :treas

I've found that the more you pay for the quest the more likely you will find treasure. There has been times where I have got nothing but then I paid only a little for the info, but that's neither here nor there as I make most of my money sacking towns, attacking convoys & looting bodies.

Does anyone know if these treasure quest gets bugged if you accept many at a time? I tried that, and it seems I could only find the treasure for the last one I accepted (used your guide to be sure it was the right location). I then went and got a new one, and found this right away.

You can't control how many Treasure Quests you get because you get them from talking to random citizens in and around towns. So you may have only 1 or 2 treasure quests then arrive in a town & have another 6 before you leave.

At the moment I have 8 Treasure Quests, 2 for Oxbay, 2 for Cayman, 1 for Conceicao, 1 for Guadeloupe, 1 for Cuba and 1 for Hispaniola.
As I have stated before & I also stated in my last post it all depends on how much you pay for the Treasure Quest. For example if you paid less that 50,000 Gold then the chances of finding the location or finding anything in the location is very slim. For one particular quest I ended up paying over 400,000 Gold as I got several Treasure quests for the same location.
I paid 27,100 gold for one quest in Oxbay Dungeon and got a dragon's tongue sword which was laying on the ground where the secret hide is, the hide wasn't there only the sword. Later I paid 196,400 gold for another quest in the same location & got a heap of treasure. The Treasure Quests are RANDOM !!!
